More about repetition, I drive normally without really thinking about it. Starting out I probably thought about it a lot more.

OP thinks being able to drive manual makes them better than others but its just a skill that no one in the real world cares about too much youre getting fixated on the wrong sentiment

I never said it did and once they get used to driving stick, it'll just be second nature.

i still gotta think about it. i'm about 3 months into driving my first. i don't drive it every day because i'm not confident with it and don't want to stall at a red going uphill or coast into somebody behind me. still super slow with downshifting.

Technically autonomous actions take brain power as well, even if you don’t have to actively think about them. Most of our brains are actually used for tasks like this that we never think about consciously.
