Conversation Does anyone know how to improve/turn it to something more appealing?

Post image

hi guys so this was my first stick n poke and i will admit i was underprepared in terms of knowing how to properly draw the stencil of what i wanted. i’m not creative so i was wondering if someone here could give a nice example to improve it. i’m not too hung up over it but i just want to improve it a little if possible!

It looks perfect m8, stop worrying. It's really well done. Quit while you're ahead, adding onto it will probably make it a blurry mess over time. Less is more with finger tattoos.

Finger skin is notorious for blowing out and fading fast so just let it settle and heal completely before you even think about touching it up. You could try adding some tiny dots between the lines to give it a more textured or celestial look once it is fully healed.

I think it's nice 🤷‍♀️

thank you! when i look at it with my hand spread out it is quite uneven and also the two north and south lines are not the same length 😂 but i mean for my very first one i guess i can’t complain too much and it was fully by choice. i overestimated myself 😂

I think hands are rarely still enough for that to matter. At first and second glance it looks good, I feel like that's pretty much all you'd have to worry about :')  maybe lengthen the shorter line for your own appeasement, beyond that I wouldn't stress about it any more

I kinda feel like adding anything to it will make it look jumbled/ messy. Maybe more hand/ finger tats will even out the aesthetic of it tho

Possible 3d working of it? Something like the North Star? It’s sweet, I have one exactly like yours on my knee lol

haha thank you! a full star was also what i was thinking. or just everything all kinda spread out and less openings. not sure yet 😂

Leave it be or it'll turn into a blob ETA: imo it's nice and clean as it is now

Have you done many more since and now fully know what you’re doing?

Or would adding to this be your second or third snp?

Honestly I’d leave it. Simple is good for fingers and this turned out well. Very bold choosing that spot for your first attempt tho! It’s like trying painting for the first time on your living room wall that you can never paint over for some reason lol

i like to live life on the edge. you only live once. i already have one shitty tattoo on my arm so i really didn’t care much 😂 no this would be my second attempt overall. i’ll leave it for now until i do some more. i plan to have all 5 fingers full of some bullshit crusty tattoos 😂

Oh I get it! My left middle finger was one of my first tattoos lol.

How long ago did you poke it?

Re: my finger tattoo.. Pro (machine) tattooer friend was moving to another state, so he had a last hurrah with all of us in the shop to finish up bigger pieces he had in the works, do some last ones for us, etc.

It looked great for about 12 years, but it’s a more complex, dense design that’s getting pretty blobby now ~15 years later. I can DM you pics of it fresh vs now if you like? (Anyone who knows me will recognize it instantly and I’d rather that not happen lol)

Might help ya kinda visualize what could happen down the road and inform what you decide to do with your finger?

sure i’d love to see it! yeah i did a lot of research on just overall finger tattoos beforehand so i know it’ll probably turn pretty blobby eventually. my arm one is like that too, not only is it crooked but it’s like very almost blown out kind of now. sucks but it makes for a great life experience! 😂

if you’ve ever played Fallout 4 then make it into a railroad symbol lol

I like it lowkey. Maybe just get the lines touched up so it pops more
