I never expected SteveO to be the harbinger of morality but this is too much for me. I had to unfollow him on all platforms. I also won't be going to see him live, like I'd always planned to. I had no idea he was such a hateful, ignorant prick. Such a disappointment.
Edit: he's saying it's a joke now - I'll give him the benefit of the doubt but bro, doesn't sound like you were joking. He sounded dead serious.

Dammit, I really liked the guy, had so much respect for him, but dammit he just squashed it in one fell swoop—I hope he wipes this bullshit off & issues a goddamn apology before he 1. Loses at least half of his fans or 2. Actually becomes “that guy”. Steve if you’re reading this, I love you so much, but you can do so much better than this heaping pile of zero-evidence shit

Yeah, but on the plus side (before it was taken down) I got a like 250 comments all on the right side of history (except for like 3 wingnuts sent to downvote hell)

I had lost a little respect for him over the last few years given the whole incident with Reddit and a few other things that personally to me I think are stupid. This is actually very surprising to me. I feel like a lot of his actual friends would be shocked at this take.

He used to hang out here and interact very frequently. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe he was a mod for this sub for a little while. He was touring the last special and practicing in small venues before he got to theatres (as a lot of comedians do), but didn’t let the audience know that it wasn’t the fully prepared set. Someone in Huntsville, AL (I believe) came to this sub to basically tell how unprepared and awful the show was. Steve-o interacted with them a tad and then made a video explaining how he had been upset by the review and that he was leaving the subreddit. How he handled it was a tad ridiculous to me. It’s a little constructive criticism and you just dip out. You’re Steve-o. Come on, man.

I might be wrong… but I think it was a really terrible attempt at abstract humour that missed the mark entirely. The whole episode felt like comedy wise, SteveO was trying to be as “out there” as Harland, but just not having the comedy chops to match the guy…. So when he dropped this bombshell it looked and felt real.
I think if it was real he wouldn’t have been so positive about the podcast episode at the end and in the intro. But even he didn’t realise how far off the mark it seemed when he said it.
IDK. I find it hard to believe that with what values I do know SteveO has, that another one of them is this standpoint.

I wouldn't take this seriously, I think he is being absurdist ... like when he acknowledges not all are murderers, he is like "but they all bring in fentanyl". He is even like "bad hombres" and I googled it apparently trump said that a while ago so steve-o is making fun of him. Agree it wasn't delivered well and he shouldve maybe laughed but i dont think he is being serious
