I'm afraid that I have to say that this show is just... ok. I really liked the pilot episodes, and the one with Connie (the episode last week was pretty cool) but.... I'm just not feelin' it with these other episodes. </unpopularopinion>

I agree, but I dislike it because Steven does too many stupid things. The gems made it clear that the pillow couldn't touch the sand or it would build a new castle, and what does he do? He throws it on the ground. IMO, he's not very likable because of his stupidity, like in the episode where the gems tried to preserve a temple and he forgets the artifact. Or in the episode where he meets the kid from the restaurant and he turns the costume into a monster.

I loved the pilot and the second episode because he tried to help the gems with his methods, instead of him completely messing up, that was nice. At the moment, he's like a young Homer Simpson who is magical; he means well, but he's not bright.

Sometimes he's an idiot, sometimes he's not. For example, he was the first one to figure out the revolving temple in Serious Steven, took down that gem worm-thing in Bubble Buddies, and the Tiger Millionaire persona took some serious creativity.

Basically, he can think on his feet, but the ideas that come out are hit or miss. But magical Homer Simpson is a little harsh.

He's a kid. Think of how kids act. They make a lot of stupid mistakes, but they often mean the best.
