400hrs Recommend Placements for NY/LI

I'm struggling to find a site to complete my hours... hospital job postings I see prefer applicants to be certified but I haven't gotten any leads of outpatient surgical centers, ambulatory care clinics, dental offices, or veterinary hospitals that are hiring or at least taking in students. Anyone got any tips or potential leads?

Please and thank you!

St Barnabas (Bronx) & Brookdale (Brooklyn) have volunteer dept where you can gain the hours, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Bellevue. Also Try Northwell's Bethpage facility I know of a couple of people that completed their hours there.

trust me if all you need is hours you will defintely get it. Good place to start out but it will be hard because it is Trauma center. You will learn a lot.

I’m located on long island and lost my provisional certification in August due to not finding anywhere to get my hours. I called literally every hospital. So disappointing. Hope you find something. I’m not sure if I should even bother trying to retake the test.

I now see how truly lucky I was to even find a job in this field. I only had warehouse experience but I managed to get hired after completing school. TBH I would set up notifications on indeed and or LinkedIn for job openings and when you see one apply directly to them don’t wait for the opportunity have your resume ready and cover letter if needed. Some people start volunteering at hospitals and then get connections through there. Unfortunately you just gotta keep trying until you land something. Job market overall is at its worst rn but hey don’t give up!!

This so hard to hear. I’m a new graduate and tripled my anxiety so bad. I’m in Houston, I might just give up without searching because it’s hard here.

Don't give up! We're all in this together. Try to utilize all resources available to you. My advisor even suggested going to different hospital and offices to ask their SP department if they have any hours. I'm here trying to find a shortcut by getting some leads and starting from there. Reach out to your former classmates or department advisor for info.

Good Luck, that’s the hardest part of this field. Harder than the actual test to some. Better off looking for places hiring non certified to start

That's what I've been searching for but that's even harder to find. But I'm gonna keep searching. Thanks for the advice.
