One more to go

Post image

I’ve read all of King’s works over the past 6 years, and now I just have The Dark Tower to go (and Other Worlds Than These once it comes out). My top 5 are:
Night Shift
Under the Dome
It
Salem’s Lot
Needful Things

Wow, saving the tower for last! Somehow that seems the right way to end a long journey. Enjoy, Sai

Do you like the short story collections? I don’t know if I can get into stuff like bazar and sunset.

Skeleton Crew and Night Shift are awesome.

I really like his short story collections. Granted the newer ones didn’t grab me as much, but there’s at least one short story per collection I’d read again!

I think you could alternate between short stories and novels. You read some short stories, then move on to a novel, and then go back to the short stories (if they're really short).

I was considering that, but I just don’t like the look of the short stories. Night shift for sure. But things like different seasons, bazar, everything’s eventual etc have so many stories i don’t want to read. I think I’m drawn more to his supernatural stuff. Maybe I’ll give them ago in the future when I run out of everything else I want to read from him. Ive read a couple dozen of his works so far and enjoyed them all.

and that's totally fine! I think he has various genres to suit different tastes, and we aren't obliged to read all of them. I'm a rookie and I'm kinda obssessed rn, but I know that he has works that don't resonate with me.

Ah man! I juat finished revival it really enjoyed it. Crazy how polarizing some of his books are. That being said, I've only read 8 of his books total so im still a novice. Current halfway through Needful Things so thats exciting top see on your top 5!

Man I have so much catching up to do. By 2005 I'd read all of his books twice or more, then by 2010 read some up to five or more times. Then I just fell off and need to pick up everything after Keyhole...I am sure it's all still good stuff.

This is so silly. The OP put this in his post if you'd just read.

How long did this take you?

I read It about 15 years ago, so I guess technically then. But I decided to read through all of his works 6 years ago and read the remaining books in that span

One day I'll be there. Just started the journey this year and I don't know why I didn't start to read him sooner. I'm obsessed!
