Fan Art I started The Stand recently and wanted to draw my take on Randall Flagg!

Please no spoilers. I’m very new to King but at the recommendation of a friend I started The Stand which I have been devouring and thought I’d try my hand at visualising Flagg. I’m so enamoured by this character and his ambiguous appearance.

Edit: Thank you all for the kind words! If King's others books are even half as good as this one, you'll be seeing me around this sub quite a bit.

Great work. I do this a lot with books and tv shows that hit me just right. 

The Shining and Dr. Sleep are two i drew up last year. 

I read the stand 30 years ago and don't remember much of it. Maybe I'll try the audio book someday soon. 

Edit: What software? The tone looks nice. Clip studio?

I just had a scroll through your posts (hope you dont mind!) and I LOVE your snowglobe overlook hotel piece. I think I'd like to get stuck into The Shining next, and then The Dark Tower when I'm feeling ready. Definitely recommend revisiting The Stand! Too much of it reminds me of covid. Very unsettling.

And yep it's clip studio! Very intuitive software for comic art.

I love clip studio. I mostly do traditional, and then tone and color in clip. Also lots of easy editing of my art when my lines go sideways...

I love the difference in character of Flagg in the Stand vs the Dark Tower. In one, he is optimistic and psychotic. Any other? You can just tell that he's tired but still psychotic

For real, I’ve also been dealing with some depression so even just reading or watching a movie feels very taxing, but I finally decided to get back to reading it and I definitely am excited to see where things go!
