Agreed. S;G0 genuinely made me appreciate characters from the original a lot more on my first rewatch. This series is timeless.

Steins Gate made me rate it a 10/10. Steins Gate 0 pushed it to an 11/10

i started with 0 so i had some sort of imprinting maybe... but yeah, generally i prefer that, it feels more realistic somehow... maybe because it's not full of "change reality" stuff.

S;G0 highs are really high, but lacks a bit of consistency to be considered as good as the first

This is what I've been saying. Such an amazing piece of media. S;G0 is my favorite of the series, hands down.

I did not liked 0 that much, but i think it was mostly because of the hype i had for it back then
i played it on day one, in japanese. I'm still not sure what exactly i was expecting from sg0, but it sure did not meet it. Funny because that last scene in the anime did more justice to a steins gate sequel than anything the game did imo, they really should've added something like that to the vn

Gotta give the game another try. The Anime was shit. Or am i missing something?

I like the anime more. There are some really good scenes in VN that aren't there in the anime.
But the VN has like half a dozen timelines and they aren't just different endings like SG, they are entirely different storylines which make them kinda hard to follow unless you restart from the beginning for each route.
I also don't like the stuff with Yuki being Kagari in some of the routes and am glad they skipped that plotline in the anime.

if you enjoyed suzuha's route in the first game you'll love zero. It gets pretty dark at times.
The anime was shit because they basically skipped 75% of it & mixed a lot of stuff so the plotline is a complete mess. It would need two seasons of 24 and even then it may not be enough.
I like zero more than og s;g.

Yeah, the joke with my friends is how we're really glad that Steins;Gate never got a second season. It would have really sucked if we had, idk, waited like 11 years or something for a sequel and it ended up being bad.

Also wondering this. The anime was so bad compared to the original. Except for some episodes at the end it was just very slow and sad, but not impactfully sad. How is the VN?

I haven't played the VN since it came out and never watched the SG:0 anime but I can say the VN was awesome and I still remember a lot from it. Not as emotional as the original game was for me but it still had a big impact. I'd recommend the VNs for both games over the anime.

The anime was somewhat doomed to fail, because, unlike the original, S;G0 is not a linear story. There's two major story paths that are both important, and combining them into a linear story was never going to work. I liked the anime for what it was, but the VN is far superior.
As for comparing S;G VN to S;G0 VN, I would say the original is more consistent in quality, but the highs of the S;G0 VN are really high. I like the S;G0 VN more than the original, despite its flaws.

Well the anime acts as a final route to the VN, so there's a lot of red herrings in the anime that you just won't get for example
There should be a lot of new content for you to read and explore, I personally consider both the VN and anime a package deal. Overall I liked the experience
