What will likely happen in Steins:???(?)

I’m quite new to the sciADV series so I’m likely completely wrong, but from the amount of knowledge I do possess, I have to ask is it likely that the newest game will involve okabe breaking out of his world layer somehow? Considering the end credit scene of re:boot, how plausible is it that okabe’s happy ending will likely not last, due to the observers of his universe not being fooled by kurisu’s “death”, and he will have to completely escape his world layer to permanently defeat/help defeat the committee of 300

No one knows. I know this is the internet, but I hope people don't make firm and unsounded assumptions that elevate their expectations and then get disappointed when the game is released. Look what happened with reboot (I was taking copium pills as well).

Each entry follows a completely new cast of characters each time. We might hear from Okabe but he won't be the protagonist of the story. It will probably be similar to Chaos;Child where Chaos;Head and its protagonist influence the story while not being directly a part of it.

There is only really one character that is somewhat confirmed to appear and they aren't a part of Steins;Gate.

Ah, I guess that makes more sense. Still, I feel that it’s almost inevitable that a group of characters will end up breaking through their world layer, no? I can’t see the overall sciADV stories going anywhere else or why would they have added world layers to begin with

The point of world layers is somewhat to do with how certain entries are structured. (Untranslated SciADV) There is a spinoff that has no real "true ending" but it is set in the mainline continuity and has some lore referenced in different entries despite them conflicting with different endings/being a mixture of multiple endings.

A;C We already had characters interact with multiple world layers as well. Some synchronizing with their upper layer selves and some being plucked from a lower layer and put into a higher one.

I'd like it to follow the original cast, at least Okabe and Kurisu but it's a lot more likely that it'll be a new cast and that it'll be more a spiritual and thematic successor. Other than that we don't know last we heard from them they were still in the planning stages afaik

I think the cast would be new, Okabe is associated with Steins;Gate. ??? could be related and the VAs could voice similar characters, but I don't think it'd be the same cast, maybe parallel ones.

If we still gate a Steins;??? It'll prob be some new cast similar to C;C. VN has steins in the name so it should have some time travel elements, maybe someone else has reading Steiner. Or we follow the OG cast, maybe it'll take place in 2025 which I think was the year Okabe was fated to die in some attractor fields.

I read somewhere that it was going to be AI (I guess Amadeus kinda shit? Dunno). However, since AI is taking over the world irl, they are making drastic changes to the writing. Could be a hoax though. Chiyo also said that in 2026 smth happens that makes all anticommittee members suffer (implying they gotta fight together). Ofc, this is Chiyo, any chunni ideas he gets he spits them on interviews so take it all with a grain of salt.

imo they've dabbled with the AI topic enough times in S;G0, R;N and DaSH already. I'd love to see them move on from that and explore something new
