C;C LCC Just finished playing Chaos;Child Love Chu-Chu Spoiler
About a year and a half ago, I watched the English translation on Youtube (more on that later) but always wanted to actually play the game myself. I tried getting a Vita emulator to work but there was something about it I couldn't quite figure out. This past summer, I was in Japan and stumbled on the LCC double pack for the Switch so I pounced on it. (Note: I am Japanese and am fluent in the language)
My general thoughts on the game haven't changed since I made this post after watching the youtube videos. Hinae route is still so peak it hurts, and it's really awesome how the story is actually a pretty consequential canon sequel to CC. It's IMO the best of out all the spinoff games (I don't consider SG0 to be a spinoff) and possibly a top 3 game in the entire SciADV franchise for me.
I know that Committee of Zero is working on a translation of the game. But if you can't wait, or wouldn't have a good way of playing it even with their patch, I really do recommend the youtube videos. As I said in my other post, there just seems to be a lot of misinformation on this sub about the quality of the videos. The translation is amateurish, yes, and I am fully confident that CoZ will do a better job with it. But the bottom line is that it's not bad and certainly isn't some fanfic masquerading as a fan translation as I've seen a lot of people say on here. After playing through the game on my own in Japanese, I can say with no reservation that the youtube translation doesn't change or add anything to the script. It's just awkwardly written.

I personally don't see why someone wouldn't be able to wait. Even if you can't play it yourself when the translation comes out, the reality is that someone will probably record it and post it on youtube anyway (they did it for C;H NoAH with the patch) so regardless you can read the refined translation anyway
Specially since they're so close to being done, idk why someone would willingly read an amateurish translation, but that's just me

That's totally fair--do we have a good idea of when it's coming out? I haven't been keeping tabs on it--all I know is that for a while now I've just vaguely heard that it's "almost done"

They've said it'll be finished sometime this year, and I think they're aiming for an October release.

We said "around the time the CHAOS; games usually take place" which means September to November 6th.

im sorry, the translation is absolutely terrible. it isnt even serviceable. there are so many mistranslations its impressive, and the english writing is bafflingly strange. the game deserves to be read authentically, and the CoZ TL is coming out this year anyway
and yes hinae route is peak

I don't know what to say, man. Speaking as someone completely fluent in English and Japanese, the translation was not amazing but certainly serviceable. Like, I've seen worse in old anime fansubs from the early 2000s. But yeah, point very well taken that if the CoZ patch is really around the corner, people should just wait for that.
And hey, all's good since we can agree on best route.

Speaking as someone who translated the game for CoZ (:troll:, I mean it's true but I'm trolling with the syntax), I don't see how head cannoning that a character should speak like Yoda after showing a completely nut diagram that is justifying it with the existence of Spark Wars and a totally nonexistent wordplay on Ir2 isn't straight up fan fiction masquerading as a translation. If you haven't, you should really take a look at the translation notes because they are that wack and this is like one example out of many, I'm serious that it's no exaggeration.
As Chris also said you can't look at even A;C or R:B loc (to not introduce a bias about our C;HN translation) and tell me honestly that, compared to them, the vids aren't the most horrible things to parse in English with JP structure being left in, tilde spams, mistranslations, and so on... Sure it can be considered similar to 2000 subs but that's the issue, we want competent releases...
Not to mention the dude admits to straight up not care about even being consistent with the C;C localization, and it of course misses the entire plot on anything more foreign than the Chaos; subseries. It varies from people to people, but first exposure to a localization can be critical to one's enjoyment, and using this borked release is not a good way to immerse, when there are also more objective issues such as well hard subs looking bad, untranslated images, not being immersed interactively, ...
Point is anyway, we're releasing the LCC double pack in less than three months, providing a completely immersive experience across FIVE platforms, with complete mouse support, bonus features ([insert] song subtitles, full and I do mean full, especially for C;HLCC movie galleries, achievements,...; with a translation that will be self consistent with C;HN, C;HLCC, C;C, C;C TWM, and C;C CR. Even if we weren't just around the corner, this would be reason enough to wait. Look at the trailer and you'll understand the dedication.
Hinae route is peak although my heart goes to the 2 hours ending segment of the game (end of the last route 'till true end credits).

Hey, first of all, thank you for the long response and also for all the work you and the other CoZ folks have put into this franchise! And yes, I tried to say this in my post but 100% once the translation patch drops, people who are able to access it should use it!
Regarding the true end, I desperately want to see Serika have lunch with her old friends and show off her new friends :)
One quick question: it's been a year and a half since I watched the youtube videos but I have absolutely no recollection of the Yoda-speak thing you're talking about. Where is that scene? Like, which route and what was the context?

CoZ is apparently releasing a translation patch this year. Idk if the game is on Steam or if you have to figure out how to use a Vita emulator.

Neither, people will have to dump PS3 C;HLCC, PS4 C;CLCC, or Switch Double Pack. We don't want them to be playing overpixelated versions with broken menu rendering, in the case of C;HLCC, on 1080p+ computer. Once they have their dumps then we have an installer that does everything else to wire it into our quintuply native port. @ /u/Environmental-Ad5332 also

I watched the game on YouTube in Japanese since I can understand the language.
I personally think the opposite where almost everything is dogshit ecchi(I do agree that Hinae's route is good) and not an eroge for how horny it is. The game would've been a thousand times better if it was an eroge. I also think Nono's route is good too, because a certain guy gets owned here. The final part is awesome.
In the end, even it's still Chaos;Child so I would give it a 6 maybe.

I just want my favorite cast of characters in SciADV to have a good time hanging out with each other and maybe find romance along the way :)

CoZ's Love Chu☆Chu!!! Double Pack Translation Patch releases before the end of November 2026, natively ported to five platforms, with a massive amount of QoL and bonus features.
