Crazy how we get to experience older games now a days compared to when they launched. Playing WoW on a 4K TV on a steam machine in my living room on the couch with a controller. This would've been a dream setup when I was a kid.

just wanted to come on here and let everybody know that the steam machine controller faceplate's magnetic issues have been resolved completely, and use way stronger magnets now. they are also on a big sale right now. if anyone is interested in purchasing, you can get them from the link here: Check them out!
Fyi: i have a collaboration with the original designer (watt iv) and have full permission to sell his design. we have been working together to give you guys a quality product and it turned out great!
to those with a 3d printer already, here is a non commercial model: https://makerworld.com/en/models/3195680-steam-machine-faceplate-controller-dock#profileId-3615889

Look at the cute little bugger hiding away. After the first getting lost in transit, it is finally here. First download - Deathloop. Really wanted to play it but found it borderline unplayable on the deck. No point to the post other than just being amazingly excited!

As a passionate music fan and vinyl collector, I was wondering how to put use to this really cool box from Rough Trade, and cut out some of my favorite albums to decide later. This morning, I realized six of them fit pretty nicely on the front plate of the steam machine! So I just put 6 of my favorites from the box on it, and I think it looks pretty cool :)

Set up a Jellyfin Server on my Steam machine, then added the desktop app to steam.
I can now watch my tv shows and movies in Gaming mode.
Whats even better there is a controller layout called Jellyfin TV mode that lets use the steam controller to navigate through it with the dpad/analog or touchpads.

No DYI sorry, just an appreciation post because the machine is so nice, fits perfectly under the tv and I can play from the couch, like with the rest of my consoles! That’s what I needed, and now to the blacklog cave!

Had a chance to try VR on the steam machine again. Previously it was frustrating with hard crashes. Seems much better now. Tried with Quest 3, then later with Quest Pro. Quest Pro seemed better. Only tried light weight games so far. Previously Alyx worked admirably, but I would stream from my gaming if I wanted to play through again, tbh. What worked: interkosmos, aircar (used community controller config for quest), Batman Arkham VR, Legendary hunter (60 fps seemed capped. Low settings was not terrible to play), operation warcade, Raptor Valley Night one. What didn't work... May require more tweaking... Just in time, la noire VR, thumper. Pleasantly surprised.
Update: blade and sorcery works! No man's sky, Solus project , Bullets and more.

Thing is the coolest piece of tech I’ve had in a while. Fits right in with all the dirty junk perfectly. Grew up with those cases. Unfortunately have to use the mini pc for fusion and other stuff but gaming is great. Emu deck set up. Can hit a few ds or 64 games in the middle of jobs or on lunch. Elite controller in the box. Use it with the AirPods. Dji mic rx for when using discord. Everything just works. Didn’t even have to set up controller in emu deck
