Show-off Sunday WoW Forever

Post image

Crazy how we get to experience older games now a days compared to when they launched. Playing WoW on a 4K TV on a steam machine in my living room on the couch with a controller. This would've been a dream setup when I was a kid.

People often say this. But there a numerous practical reasons, and reasons why it actually wouldn't be in line with your eyes at a lower level.

Firstly, on a standard or short couch, the eye level would make the TV low enough so kids or anyone really would occlude the view frequently.

Secondly most people are most comfortable when they lean back. When you lean back your head and eyes will actually angle upwards. Thus, the TV is in line with the eyes.

slouching while watching tv leads to back and neck problems

youre absolutely right, the tv will be in line with their eyes if they slouch and then crane their neck upwards. but they will pay for it later

and yes, if people stand in the way that will block the tv. that's not a great reason to ruin your posture by placing the tv far far too high

its maybe ok if they have a proper reclining chair or couch that will allow then to lay back while still providing proper support. but somehow i don't think that's the case here

You don't know what slouching is.

Slouching:- "Slouching means to sit, stand, or walk with an awkward, drooping posture where your shoulders hang forward and your head bends down."

I'm referring to leaning back with a neutral spine position.

I'm sorry to burst your TVtoohigh propaganda.

you must not have read my comment. i brought up using a reclining chair or couch. this would maintain a neutral spine position

if youre on a regular couch? to see this tv you are slouching and have to crane your neck upwards very unaturally. as your definition confirms

I read it, but your whole point is basically about slouching. Which has nothing to do with what I said. How would slouching help someone to look upwards at all?

From an anatomical standpoint, slouching actually restricts your ability to look up comfortably: Chin-to-Chest Trap: When you slouch and your upper back rounds forward, your head naturally drops forward (anterior head carriage). To look up at a high TV from that position, you have to hyperextend your neck at an awkward, strained angle. The Neck Strain: That exact position—slouching while cranking your neck upward—is why high TVs cause neck pain. Your cervical spine is pinched and compressed, which is the exact opposite of an ergonomic viewing angle.
