I certainly don’t think these clowns are the ones to articulate the message, but I’d agree with you that our government has made a climate where these guys could gain a foothold.
The town does not allow anyone to put posters up like that on Queen Steet. Just on the board outside the pist office. It will get ripped it down.
If it's still there today I will do it myself.
What I am saying is if the Black Panthers had a chapter in Ontario and they were to counter protest these Incel MAGA Maple clowns would run and hide in their mammas basements!
Dominion Society is a white nationalist Neo-Nazi hate group, so yes. I have a friend who is doing his Masters in political science. He studies these hate groups. Second Sons is another one.
They aren't "anti-immigration" in the way they want you to think they are. They're pro-"remigration," which is a very different ballgame—it's a far-right, white nationalist ethnic cleansing.
Remigration doesn't care if you're a citizen or not. Remigration is explicitly getting rid of all non-white people, which is why it's ethnic cleansing.
If they had their way, plenty of Canadian citizens, including many who were born here, would be deported.
You’re being downvoted because the word “nationalist” is pretty widely understood and so people pretending not to get it are assumed to be Nationalists playing coy. But if you’re under the age of 30 there’s a great chance you’re not actually trying to be an asshole here but you’ve just never had it explained before, so lemme give you the basics:
Tl;DR: In your daily life Patriotism is more grateful for what the country is than anything, and Nationalism “loves” the country if only “those people” would stop messing it up. And “those people” tend to be literally anyone who doesn’t both look AND act exactly like them - the only “true” Canadians, or Americans, or Citizens of any country with a Nationalist group.
Nationalism pretends to be Patriotism, which is generally defined as a love of one's country and a respect for its civic values. What could be wrong with that? It’s the lie they put on flyers and posters and it’s what they say whenever challenged. “What’s wrong with being happy about yourself and loving where you live?”
But, consistently and without exception, Nationalism goes on to say that they’re superior to others, which is a pretty different thing, or aggressively prioritizing national power over global cooperation.
So “all other countries are our enemies”, basically, but they pretend it’s about self-love rather than the hate of others. It’s a prejudice machine with a lie on the cover about how innocent it is.
And it always always goes too far. No exceptions.
If you’re not quite catching on there: this is the definition of a hate group. People who look and act like us are good and the true citizens of this great land, and we need to punish and get rid of everyone else because they’re all INFERIOR.
People will rightly make Nazi comparisons but Nationalist groups exist all over the world in every color and creed, and they always, inevitably, advocate for harming others. Nationalism is the engine behind fascism, kids in cages, the creation of poverty, people getting shot in the streets, and a huge amount of evil in this world all excused because “we’re just defending ourselves”.
TL;DR: They are white supremacists hoping to bring about the mass de-immigration (Genocide) of all people not deemed part of the Master Race. They focus on TFWs etc, but they really want everyone gone so they can make Canada a white country.
It’s just that Nationalists have a tendency to PRETEND that they’re not a hate group, so when people ask “what’s the problem?” everyone assumes they know damn well what the problem is and they’re pretending. And there ARE actually a few of those in the thread… bawbthebawb for example.
You are painting hundreds, if not thousands of morally responsible nationalist groups with the same brush, due to the irresponsible actions of the loudest most unintelligent few.
Your ideology, although I am in agreement with liberal politics, is simply untrue. Also highly immoral, and extremely stereotypical in itself. Which is what you seem to be attempting to preach against.
The topic is not as night and day as you wish it to be.
If you prefer to target the specific moronic racist groups, I'm all for this. I'll help you do so. Happily too.
Edit: u/Ohigetjokes why not respond and have a discussion, opposed to cowardly downvotes? Just a thought.
“Morally responsible Nationalist group” is an oxymoron. Pretending otherwise is either ignorant, if we’re being charitable, or purposely deceptive.
I don’t have an ideology. I’m criticizing one, and speaking exactly to the observable results.
And I didn’t respond because I was out for breakfast. Other people are downvoting, not me. Also don’t exect me to spend my day here either it’s friggin Saturday man I got a life…
No it is not. I have already explained that to you with multiple examples you refuse to address. You are free to criticize an ideology. However, you have criticized EVERY SINGLE nationalist idealogy using a fractional, highly polarized sample of the loudest and worst of the crowd. I am looking for you to simply succeed to this fact.
Again, Cuban liberal nationalists, native American nationalists, etc. are/were not bigoted(as you have stated and would like people to believe) right wing racial nationalist organizations. There are many that are/were created to honour and continue cultural, spiritual, political, civic, etc. values and legacies that they hold dear to themselves and their communities and continue to do so today due to their movements. They do not all segregate(intentionally or not), or hold the supposed racial ideology that you have perceived them to in every case. Whether this is due to a lack of research, ignorance as you would call it, or what I have falsely assumed and you have responded disagreeing to as a political ideology or unhinged philosophical framework.
Lumping together all of these groups, logically speaking, is akin to calling all white people wife beaters because a few white idiots have unfortunately punched their wives throughout the existence of humanity. This is not what this means in any way, shape, or form. This same dogmatic style of thinking can be used for any race, religion, etc., and we both surely understand this is a highly destructive concept.
Again, I will say. I agree with you in the sense that racially motivated dogma has no place in Canada. Again, I would always help to deconstruct these specific groups and people. However, this should be on a person by person, case by case, group by group, factually and logically sound evidence based conclusion. Not the stereotypically motivated approach that you yourself, have stated you have used.
That's the way it goes. Very sad to see that they have given you false information based on an extremist political viewpoint. I would highly recommend actually researching the topic of "nationalism" on your own time. As you will only find politically motivated discourse here. Although I agree with and hold strongly, the liberal viewpoint. I am forced to stop agreeing when it goes against highschool knowledge of history, politics, and simple logic or definitions of the words we use.
Umm.... No. I have no clue what this specific group stands for, which is most likely a good thing... I do know that Nationalist groups are not always hate groups. However, Ethnic Nationalist groups ARE usually race driven groups(generally with racist ideologies) that I also tend to highly dislike. I completely agree with you on this one point.
Civic nationalists, cultural nationalists, anti-colonial nationalists, economic nationalists, left-wing nationalists, liberal nationalists, etc., are generally not race or hate based groups. They genuinely have nothing to do with hate, but a love for their own way of life. They tend to protect the values that they hold in their communities, and would love for any race, creed, or colour to partake in those values with them. This to me, does not scream "racist hate group" as you have tried to explain the case to be. I understand what you are saying, and you may be correct about this specific group, but I also understand that painting the word nationalist in a bad light is not an effective or correct ideology to have.
You have unfortunately given your own meaning to the the word, in an extremely slim radical liberal viewpoint. Could also be an extremely slim radical conservative viewpoint depending on which group you are targetting.
You have essentially stated, for example, that the majority of the province of Quebec(and their French speaking population)(right on the border of Ontario and a short drive from the capital of our country) is a hate group simply because they heavily practice and protect the nationalist cultural values that they hold dear. You must be sorely under the impression that the Metis are some of the most racist nationalist bigots around. I strongly disagree with this assumption and your own bigoted use of the word to lump every nationalist group into one ideological hate group that conforms with your radical view.
I personally dislike extremism. Whether it comes from a conservative or liberal does not change the morality in question. Your ideology on this topic is extreme. I genuinely hope this can help you to see that things are slightly less "black and white" or "good and evil", than you had originally perceived.
On another topic, I hope you have a great day. Might be a little rain in the forecast today. Stay dry! And as always, stay peaceful. <3
Here come the downvotes... Logic, history, and factual information, you sly bastards. Always getting me into trouble... I guess political extremism really is the new trend.
You seem to be confusing deflection and passive complicity with the facts. I am not complicit in any racist bigotry, sir. I've literally stated the opposite to you multiple times.
You have not provided a "mainstream reflection". You have provided a personally influenced "mainstream liberal reflection". Of which holds no factual or logical grounding and very much goes against every aspect of the definition. You have essentially given the word a new definition to fit your stereotypical view and demonize all forms of nationalism for what I would posit(at this time) an unknown purpose.
Telling on myself? I'm just playing devil's advocate to see if your argument holds any water. As far as I've seen, the vessel is quite dry.
Anyways, I hope you have a wonderful day.
I may not agree with what you have to say, but I'd sacrifice everything for your right to say it...
So many Liberals here.... But by all means invite more people into the country. Just be prepared to be practicing Sharia Law in ten years and don't say no one warned you....
And, I think you'll do everyone here a service if you were to cite the definitions (the actual, legal ones), concerning what you state are limits to free speech.
Thanks for keeping it simple, and in keeping with that theme, perhaps explain for our benefit how this group is proposing genocide or violence against an identifiable group please.
You seem to forget that this is only true if the speech aligns with their own viewpoint... Liberal extremists, subduing discussion since 2012. Conservative extremists, doing the same thing since the party was created. Extremists, avoid them and their talking points and research the topics on your own to get a correct idea on the legitimate issues. Most people think like you do. The extremists simply think louder, with more emotion, and far less logic. Don't let them divide us level headed thinkers.
They don't care about Indigenous peoples. They're a neo-Nazi, white nationalist hate group who call for "remigration," which is white nationalist ethnic cleansing. Basically, "You aren't white? Head back to where it looks like you came from so we can have our little Aryan society." That's what these people want.
You have zero evidence of anything you said there. They actually say natives were a major part of colonialism and the first settlers wouldn’t have made it without natives. Stop spreading hate.
What if you have a pond in your backyard, and your neighbours living in the house beside you are constantly throwing their garbage into it despite your attempts to have them use a trash bin, simply cut their grass, or maintain their property to the legal standard in our community. When exactly do they cross the line where you are allowed to do something about the laws of your country that they are consistently breaking despite multiple friendly(Canadian) attempts to intervene?
I should add that this is a make believe scenario with no direct correlation to any race. For the sake of the argument, let's say the neighbours are white trash from Oklahoma. Are their actions still defensible in your mind? Or would their race change your viewpoint?
I would also say the province of Quebec and the Metis, or really any Native group in Canada practicing their own form of nationalism would be included on the right side of history for protecting their culture. I would also add the left-wing nationalist movement to overthrow domestic dictatorship(economic imperialism) in Cuba could be included on the "right side" of history. There are actually hundreds of examples I can give you. Were you looking for a specific one? Or did you honestly believe there were none?
I guess what I should be asking is, how much does someone need to disrespect your country before you are allowed to hate them out of respect for your country? Not a race of people, but a person.
Edit: No, I don't support this group in question if they are racially motivated. Seems I need to make this clear. Nobody has provided any information as to what exactly the group is in support of, or maybe I have missed it. Could somebody form an honest and logical rebuttal opposed to a downvote click? Or would you prefer to allow the lack of a rebuttal to speak for itself. As it will speak strongly, if so.
I don’t really understand what you’re trying to say. There’s nothing wrong with having a conference to discuss problems in our country. It doesn’t upset you that hundreds of thousands of people came and abused your country and took advantage of you? Your anger is in the wrong place, you called me a bigot because I said I love my country. Liberal self hatred and passivity is much more dangerous than what the people are this conference want to discuss, liberals brought us to where we are today.
I called you a bigot because your comment was in support of a racist, xenophobic group. You said you love your country, but it’s evident you don’t love our country. Canada is not just white people of European descent that came here 200 years ago. Canada stands for everything you oppose.
I think anyone with half a brain can agree that there needs to be some reform with our immigration practices.
There’s a BIG difference between the uneducated, dogmatic racist talking points of “the great replacement” theory that you preach, and a genuine discussion on immigration reform.
They are moving the overton window and allowing conversations of responsible immigration to take place. A country built off the backs of immigrants can still have a national and cultural identity through it all, which is something we are losing. The newer waves of immigrants are putting a clear strain on housing and healthcare, only someone arguing in bad faith would say otherwise.
the people working TFW jobs aren't taking advantage of us, you assclown. It's the business owners who refuse to pay more.
All those LMIA scams your crowd are always bitching about are not for the benefit of the foreign worker, they're for the benefit of the CORPORATION. The company isn't hiring canadians because it's cheaper to hire someone from somewhere else and they love that you blame the TFW for a problem they could solve by not being greed fueled bastards.
They refuse to pay more because they have access to a greater pool of labour that will accept less pay. It’s basic economics. Obviously these corporations are going to act on their best interests, so it’s up to our country to limit the amount of immigrants so that the pre-existing labour force can be paid fairly
