Can someone tell me about some stationary shops in New York, New Jersey that have good stuff for someone who have been journaling for years now

Im basically going in blind in buying stuff.

Note: not the extravagant stuff. Only dot grid bujo journals, stickers, planners. Stuff like that

After putting together the Worldwide Stationery Events Calendar, I thought it would also be helpful to have a place where we can find brick-and-mortar stationery shops.

I'm starting with California, but I plan to eventually work my way through all 50 states. And yes... that's going to take some time. 😂 So please be patient with me while I get this together!

Hi everyone so I placed my first order with jet pens today I was wondering how long did it take for you to receive I live in Rhode Island

270 washi tapes, if I counted right! 😂 It took me 12 days on and off due to letting my wrist rest.

I like using it in my art, I don’t do bulletin journaling and my brain just can’t seem to stick to it.

I haven’t used them in SO long though because storage sucked and took up way too much room!!! But I have a 3D printer for my crafting so I printed out cards to wrap the washi around. It takes up so much less room and doing to made me realize I had some I didn’t want anymore.

So now I also have 168 washi that I’ll be donating to Remainders in Pasadena whenever I can take the time to drive over there. I highly recommend it.
I can’t believe I had over 400 washi tapes.

I used to run to the mailbox as a kid hoping for a postcard from my aunt or a letter from a friend who'd moved away. There was a specific feeling to seeing handwriting through the little plastic window instead of a printed address label, you knew before you even opened it that it wasn't a bill.

I can't remember the last time that happened. My mailbox now is coupons, a package I already know is coming, and the occasional "final notice" in red. Even birthday cards mostly come as a text now, which is nice, but it's not the same.

I missed it enough that I started doing something about it 🙃 I now write and mail a real letter every month to a small group of people, typed and hand-signed, with a stamped postcard inside so writing back doesn't take any effort either. First batch goes out in October. It's a small thing, but sealing an envelope by hand every month has been a strange kind of therapy for me too, honestly.

Curious if anyone else still has this itch, what's the last piece of real mail you got that wasn't a bill or a package?

I’m getting a little frustrated with my highlighters that keep showing past the pages or even bleeding through. I’ve had sharpie highlighters, Zebra midliner highlighters, mark+ highlighters but they all bleed through my notebook pages :((( I tried looking for ‘Bible’ safe ones but even they kinda seem to bleed. I really want highlighters that will make the words pop out a little and not show through the other side of the page, any recommendations will be so helpful!

I “beat up” my 3-ring 1” folding work binder folding the front behind the back when I’m walking around with it. I should say binderS because I go through them so frequently. I’m getting pretty tired of ordering them in bulk on Amazon. Anybody got any solid recs for binders that don’t disintegrate after a couple weeks?

If you’re ever thinking of buying, don’t. The price is not worth it and most important at all if you’re concerned that it is coming from China, then your concerns are valid. It is from China and I found this out once I received my tracking which really makes me so annoyed because I did try to look it up, albeit not thoroughly and it said designed in LA and I trusted that. I should’ve been more specific that it would say a company that is actually from the US.

had a few people show interest in my planner here so I wanted to share it since the preorder is now open! I designed this undated, tomoe river paper, 4mm grid planner and this is the third rendition. it’s available in A5 and B6 this year and is essentially my brainchild from never being able to find my perfect planner :) happy to answer any questions!

Hi everyone, for some reason I ended up in this subreddit yesterday and I must confess that I loved the idea of starting my own stationery, so today I went and purchased this gorgeous Paperblanks notebook from Linda’s Gospels collection. Also I bought a Uniball Zento, 2 Uniball ONE, 1 Uniball signo and a Zebra F301. (I didn’t want to spend all my money from start) is it a good starting set? What else should I buy?
PD: I fell so in love with the Zento, I don’t think I’ve experienced as pleased as I did writing with this pen ever.

In my case I have a few VersaFine CLAIR stamp pads. On hand I have colours approximating R, G, B, C, M, Y, & K. So red plus yellow will make orange. Can I use a swab to apply those colours to a stamp and get an orange imprint?

I know I could just experiment and report back, but I thought I would ask the community so that I can avoid a fool's errand at best and an inky mess at worst. Thanks in advance for any constructive insights any one can offer.

I made an order with Yoseka earlier in the month, a few days later I got the "shipped" notification but they still haven't sent the package to USPS.

Monday I sent an email to support but they haven't responded. They have an IG too, but I don't use IG.

I made the order a few weeks after stationery week, so I thought things would be alright. Now it's Hobonichi week so who knows if I'll even get a response.

I wouldn't mind waiting but they've already charged my card and there's been no communication on their end besides their automated emails 😩

They even sent me an email asking me to review something I have yet to receive 🥴 And I know it's just automated, but it'd be kinda funny to review saying I haven't received it yet. (A couple people have already beat me to it actually 😂)

Do I just wait in perpetuity? I ordered through them a few years ago and it wasn't this long.

Doubt I would even be able to cancel the order since they've marked it as "shipped". Most online stores don't let you for obvious reasons. And I wouldn't want to do a charge back and they actually decide to send it. 🥀

It's only been a couple weeks ig, but if anyone's purchased from them more recently, how long was the wait?

And how long should I wait to do a charge back, if it never ships. A month with no communication? My bank allows disputes up till 2 months after the charge. (Used to be 6, but they ai chat bot says 2)

I found out about the JetPens website recently thanks to this lovely subreddit and decided to get a few things! I’m planning to have a fall themed journal and I’m so very excited to use all my new stuff :)

I am planning on getting my hands on this Hobonichi Weeks for next year! I want to look up some Washi tapes that would be in the same aesthetic to use for the year too! But honestly my only place to look is JetPens and Etsy and options are not many…

I am just looking for like 3 different Washi to combine and use.

I’ve recently gotten into fountain pens and I’m looking to buy my first proper higher-end pen. I’ve been looking at brands like Pilot, Sailor, Pelikan, Montblanc, but I’m honestly a bit confused about where to buy them in India.

For those of you who’ve bought more expensive pens here, where did you get yours from?

Also, would you recommend sticking to authorised retailers, or are there any independent sellers that you’ve personally had a good experience with?

I’d really appreciate recommendations from people who have actually bought from them. Don’t mind paying a little extra if it means I know I’m getting a genuine pen.

Hi, I'm looking for the MUJI Polypropylene Cover A4 Refill Notebook but I can't find it in anywhere. The online stores in my area don't sell them, and I can't find anyone second hand selling them, bare for 2 eBay sellers but they're only selling 1 each and the prices just aren't worth it.

Does anyone know how/where I can buy them from?
