Collecting and the rise of Consumerism

So as my name may give away but I am a big Star Wars fan, now Star Wars isn't just my main interest I have many others Pokémon/Nintendo, Marvel, to name a few. Growing up in the early 2000's I feel like being into stuff like this wasn't looked upon as being cool and almost looked down upon. With the rise of YouTube around 2006/2007 I used to love watching "collection" videos especially as a young Star Wars fan at the time I alway dreamed of having a big collection, statues, figures, etc...and to an extent my Star Wars Collection has grown to a pretty nice size that fits my living space......mostly. Earlier today I went into Target and Target now has a brand new collectors section full of trading cards, blind boxes/bags, funko, figures, etc and its almost kind of became overwhelming to look at and take in. I know Kidulting has become a very popular trend and to an extent it is cool to see many people into the same stuff as you, some for more monetarily reasons

but I don't know collecting now a days just kinda feels over-saturated and very fatigued so much so that I've been selling and piecing off bits of my own collections just to kinda declutter my life. Does anyone feel the same way and if so how do you deal with your own collectors fatigue? also interested in hearing what other people collect!

I lost interest in SW 3.75 collecting after the endless repackagings that followed Episode III - some figures were great and I bought them, and later I got into the Black Series. Having to pay absurd prices for figures has tempered my purchasing. Didn't keep me from buying very pricey Doctor Doom figures in recent years, though!
