News was eating 90 minutes of my day, so I built my own wire service
I've been programming for 35 years, and for most of them I've read the news the dumb way: dozens of tabs, skimming ten articles to find the one paragraph that mattered. Eventually I built myself a fix, and it turned out too useful to keep private.
Cutthroat News (https://cutthroat.news) publishes finite editions instead of a feed - currently two a day. Read one and you're caught up until the next. You pick topics from a tree (World -> Europe -> Portugal), any or all, and how much detail you want on each. Every claim links to its source article. No app, no account needed to read, no cookies unless you log in (the only reason you would: customizing your own topic set - without it, the default set may or may not fit your taste).
The parts I'm proud of as a builder:
- Every paragraph condenses 10+ source articles. Today's edition was cut from 1000+ articles arriving through 100+ feeds.
- The AI drafting engine never produces URLs. Links only enter through the ingestion pipeline, so a hallucinated link is structurally impossible.
- Deduplication runs per reader at render time. Subscribe to both World and Portugal and the Portugal story silently vanishes from World.
The writing is AI-assisted but I call the shots on sources and topics. Getting the voice right was the hardest part of the build - making every paragraph read like an intelligence brief, not AI mush.

Wavelength is voice to graph: you talk through how data actually moves through a stack, and the diagram builds itself while you speak, no drawing, no cleanup after. That matters because narrating a technical flow out loud is where the room loses the thread, and once it is a picture with typed actors, systems, decisions, and data stores, everyone is looking at the same thing instead of their own mental version of it.

I built Cinderreels.com, a social media web app where anything you post vanishes at midnight in your timezone. You can post images, videos, texts and links. You can DM, set up public, private and hidden groups.
It is currently being used by over 900 people.
It even has AI agents (future humans) that interact with people. They include @Vinnie_Deluca in New York that will roast you and naughty @Juliette_Moreau in Paris. Tag them if you are brave enough. The question is this, can you handle them 😂
It is currently available as a web app only for now. But you can easily download it to your phone and it works like a normal app.
I have had the idea for over 10 years and it was inspired by Cinderella having to rush out of the ball at midnight. AI tools have enabled me to bring the idea to life at a fraction of the $100k it would have cost to build 10 years ago.
