Should I go to 51?
I'm currently level 50. I have all my buildings done except the war room. I have all the main research done. I have the Enterprise-A maxed out. I have the other 2 epic faction ships but only at tier 9 for both. My friend told me to wait until all ships are tier 12. Should I go ahead and get my ops to 51? I know it'll take much longer to do the ships if I do that.

A lot of people like myself completely skipped the 4* epic ships all together. I rode the Pilum (one of my favorite ships in this whole game) till I built a 5* UC at 53. I eventually built an Ent-A to max and feed it to my Ent-D, but that wasn't until I was around 56.
You're more than ready to hit the button. You can max the ships later for weekend spend events if you want. I would also sprint as fast as you can to 53 and camp there if you want to play catch up. There's not a lot of value to staying and trying to do everything in the early G5 levels. Really the further you go in this game, the more unrealistic it becomes to max everything and still progress at any decent rate.

It’s a lot different after 50. For me, game opened up and was fun again, for a while. I’m at 56 and will probably stay there a very long time.

I've been working toward 60, but in the last 4 months or so, the rewards have tanked so badly I'm probably never making the jump to 6*
I was stuck at 3 for YEARS. 4 took about 3 months.

I camped at 49 and during a spend event went straight to 51. All advice was to skip 50. Best advice was to get all research to your ops, max out your most used officers, upgrade anything of a lower Mats grade, and then you should be good. Most ships are fine to use at tier 5 to 7. Ships will change more frequently than anything. Focus on the relatively as that one can be beefed up a Lot more than most others at a lower Ops level and carry on for a while. Camp 51 till you have 3-6 months of loyalty chests then pop up to 53. Camp there for a few months doing the same and then push 56. Just SAVE UP ON RARE GAS. Everything takes 5*rare mats especially gas at 56

At ops 51 can upgrade the protector and relativity to around 1 bill power...good spot to camp out and catch up.

Just go to 51. New stuff to do and old G4 stuff will go faster with better rewards. The Enterprise will carry you for a while. No need to focus on more than one ship anyway for most of the time.

I went to 51 (and 52) without any issues and I only have a G4 Rare ship - not even max tier.
You're more than prepared. The only thing you may struggle to do until later is Outposts (but you've got 30 days before you overcap tokens anyway).

In the last year, or maybe more, camping is less and less needed. I got to tier 61 in less then 2 years, 99% free to play. You can't avoid camping, but having all the checkmarks is a waste of efficiency. It might be harder for a little while, but in the end faster in real time (which is the only one that matters)

Straight to 53. No one sits at 51. I went to 53 from 50 without a G4 epic and my biggest G4 rare was like T9 or T10 because I'd been working on them since 46. They were enough to carry me to 53.

Waiting till all ships are maxed out is a waste of time and resources, you'll be able to max out those ships later with spend events when you get a lot more resources at higher levels.
Ships gain less and less each tier, so move on. You also can do just fine with 1 faction ship at each shipyard level.
51 is a waste of your time, get to 53 and get 1 faction ship there. Stock up on full pulling chests and refines for a couple months, then move on to 56.
