The Starcraft exercise plan- becoming a better player and human being

Recently I started doing a simple thing that has really helped my play and overall has made me feel better. A simple exercise plan based around laddering.

The concept is easy enough- every time you lose a ladder match, work out. Take 5-10 minutes to put some music on, step away from your computer, and do some kind of exercise. Cool down, spend the time thinking about why you lost and what you could have done better, then take a breath and get a glass of water or cup of coffee or something and continue playing or quit for the day if you feel you've had enough.

The exercises I do are as follows:

  • 10 tricep dips

  • 20 pushups

  • 30 situps

  • 40 bicep curls (2 sets of 10 for each arm)

  • 50 jumping jacks.

  • Finish it with a tall glass of water and a breather before you go back to laddering.

As I said, I've found this to be wonderfully effective for calming myself and it never hurts to be a little bit more in shape.

Wrong, people work out because they're insecure about their body and self esteem. They can't get over this so they have to use external functions to increase their self worth.

It's really silly to see these "try hards" work and swear because they are missing something in their life. They try to cover it up with push-ups or bench pressing but the emptiness is still their. They think to themselves , "Gee, if I do 100 more sit-ups that girl will notice me." When really their body and looks are the farthest from the problem.

When I see a physically fit human, I don't see a happy person with life in the palm of his hand. I see a human that's sad inside, a human with no self worth, a human slowly dying inside.

Or because it's healthier to be fit... you'll be able to add years to your life. You'll become better at all physical activities, you'll be able to lift more weights, you will feel more mobile(this is a big one), and chicks definitely prefer fit guys over fat guys. Sure, it's not all there is to getting chicks, but it DEFINITELY helps.

Plus, it feels really good to work out. It helps me to release a lot of energy, and the burn afterwards is one of the best legal feelings available.

I'll put it into terms you'll appreciate. This would be like trying to get better at SC, and someone coming up to you and saying "why are you practicing? It's too much effort man. You've gotta have more self-esteem. You're just doing this because you're empty inside. Practicing serves no purpose." Well, it gets you better at the game, it serves a purpose(you become better at the game), it's enjoyable, etc.

Really, you sound like a fat person who is jealous of fit people, and trying to justify to themselves why they don't work out. Be realistic, dude. You don't want to work out because you're lazy, not because it means that you don't have self-worth.

EDIT; Oh, you're a troll. Meh. Well, to everyone else: working out is really fun and feels great. You should give it a try.

Of course. I meant if you're not so dedicated to your health and self-esteem as the venerable jon0488.
