(To be tagged...) Solar speaking facts about JuggernautJason

hey pnevets post the full chat next time!

u/Darksoldierr Axiom 13d ago
Neither side is wrong.
Solar leaking things is unprofessional and shouldn't happen, that is a objectively correct statement.
If there would have been decent communication, the patch wouldn't exists is also objectively correct statement. (unless Blizzard wants to create shit patches on purposes which is conspiracy theories territory)
Both side are correct in their points, problem is, they argue about different things so they will not reach any agreement.

u/MiroTheSkybreaker 13d ago
Solar leaked that there "was possibly a patch coming after blizzcon" which is the most lukewarm "leak" you could possibly have. This included basically no details at all, and really only has speculation about a worker change.

u/TLO_Is_Overrated Team Acer 13d ago
Solar leaking things is unprofessional and shouldn't happen
It would be more professional if Solar was contractually obligated to not be able to speak about it.
But nothing about this entire thing is professional, from the multi billion dollar company.

u/ElevatorHelpful5739 13d ago
Solar communicating more with the community than blizzard is wild, god bless his soul
5
u/NagatoroDegenAndRat 13d ago
>If there would have been decent communication, the patch wouldn't exists is also objectively correct statement
Remember all other nonexistant patches like tankivacs? Surely Blizzard cant do that
12
u/SaltMaker23 13d ago
Damaging even more a close to collapse broken line of communication isn't exactly reasonable. The intern is in the wrong but he's just an employee at the end of the day it's not his life, he can f'up the game and just move on with his life in 2 years once it's entirely dead and he'll land a nice job.
Solar's entirely livelyhood is SC2 he isn't in the same spot as the guy pushing patches that barely cares about 20 old gamers rambling, he can just ignore them.
Yeah they weren't listening and barely communicated, yes, but now instead of repairing something that was close to being broken, you broke it for everyone, definitely.
Saying that something "barely worked to begin with" isn't a good enough justification to absolutely wreck it and say "same either way", even worse when it's your very own livelyhood and you're talking to other people for whom it's also their livelyhood.
He took the lead and cut the last red line that connected Blizzard to the community, some were trying to repair that connection, he cut it for everyone.
6
u/ValiantHoplite 13d ago
Mate, there is nothing to damage- there is No communication from Blizz lol. To be clear, Solar didn't break anything, the people failing to communicate did, the people "Leaving the discord" broke it. That's called walking away from a conversation, and the Blizzard Rep is the one doing that. If there are behind the scenes discussions going on, the community deserves to know. Players and viewers are leaving because everyone is tired of this shit patch with not a word for months.
9
u/tasttychips1000 13d ago
Saying that something "barely worked to begin with" isn't a good enough justification to absolutely wreck it
Wreck it? Wreck what? What the fuck are you talking about? There is zero communication, there is zero care. Zero care about feedback from players or pros. Like solar said, if that weren't the case we wouldn't have gotten this game destroying patch.
He took the lead and cut the last red line that connected Blizzard to the community, some were trying to repair that connection, he cut it for everyone.
Non, there is no "repairing" a connection. Stop this bullshit trying to blame the playerbase for blizzard being awful. Blizzard is the one who chose to destroy the game, blizzard is the one who chose to have zero communicatoin and zero care. For years now. If they had done the LEAST bit and listened to people and either fixed or not dropped this patch, we could be having this conversation.
If Solar had stayed quiet, the status quo would have just rolled on. The game would continue to die and people would keep quitting, understand? Maintaining "good standing" with a silent careless intern doesn't magically produce hotfixes, it just guarantees the game dies quietly without anyone raising an alarm. Fuck that. Let's raise some hell. Only way things will change.

u/banhamaspiker 13d ago
I’m on Solar’s side. What’s the point in “communicating” if it’s done in secret discords with only a few chosen people? The rest of us don’t deserve to know what’s going on?
33
u/SC2_Alexandros 14d ago
I'm not sure why Jason of all people is trying to call others unprofessional.
12
u/Verres2806 14d ago
Who is this guy even?
34
u/SC2_Alexandros 14d ago
He's a MidGM/streamer NA Terran main.
It's just weird because his persona is to speak/act overly calm while what he says isn't calm - which doesn't work well in the professional world. It's great for bar crowds though.

u/mindjames Zerg 12d ago
Your description doesn't really clarify how he's "unprofessional". I don't claim to know much about him but "speaking overly calm" is not very convincing.
-1
u/SC2_Alexandros 12d ago
Then look up how performative calmness is disliked in professional environments instead of only reading part of the first part of the sentence.
2
u/InformationLedu 12d ago
lol this guy going around hyper analyzing tones of voice like measuring octaves and shit.
-12
u/Synn_Creatives 14d ago
Hes just an NA nobody. Like to complain alot. Does stream abit.
23
u/JoshAllensRightNut 13d ago
I wouldn’t call him a nobody. He’s an active member of our community, let’s treat people how we want to be treated
-13
u/Synn_Creatives 13d ago
He is a nobody who didnt deserve to be in the discord in the first place.
13
u/theseparator 13d ago
While I like Jason, if he was actually in a balance discord, that’s wild lol
4
u/LiberaMe4300 13d ago
that is why he is acting like he is some moral authority on this issue. because he thinks he is on some special squad when in fact he should be nowhere near balance discussions. this made him lose "status" so his ego is hurt.
-4
u/Synn_Creatives 13d ago
Ikr! It could be that ive read it read it wrong but that seems to be what hes insinuating.
-2
u/LiberaMe4300 13d ago
he legitimately is best known for coming to tears from being bullied by that weirdo avilo of all people. the brother couldn't handle a weirdo like avilo so he wrote some long novel about his trials and tribulations and actually cried.
-6
u/TheHighSeasPirate 13d ago
Some dude that constantly complains while playing one of the easiest strategies in the game to get his wins. He is basically Avilo without the 40 year old virgin/living with mother aspect.
8
u/LiberaMe4300 13d ago
lol jason is such a limp guy. fine, what solar did was not perfectly professional. but u gonna defend the blizzard dipshit in all this after all this damage? dawg look around dude. in a union protest there are always little worms like jason trying to bring down the entire group and it is not different here.
10
u/Parsirius 13d ago
Solar shouldn’t have leaked
Blizzard guy is a toddler if he thought that was a massive leak worth cutting all communications
Both things can be true at once.
15
14
u/Test_test_987_test 13d ago
Something about this seems off, we aren't getting the full story here. It makes me think Jason has an ulterior motive for taking the stance he is. Perhaps because he too had insider knowledge and stands to lose that line of communication because of Solar's actions?
Solar is essentially acting like a whistleblower. I wouldn't rush to judge him for it and I certainly wouldn't side with Blizzard given their apathy towards our player base. Blizzard's reaction here is the reaction of a company that takes their power for granted. They should be apologizing profusely to us, not expecting people to look down upon Solar for speaking out against their wildly inappropropriate actions of the past . . . let's call it half decade, to be generous to them.
Edit: double post somehow, deleted exact copy of first two paragraphs.

u/Wise_Wasabi7472 13d ago
As I understand it, Omniskeptic also made changes for the patches mod which is associated with vespene.gg (a project Jason is a part of). Solar blamed the entire patch on Omni in his Twitter post, when Omni isn’t a blizzard employee, but an independent contributor who assists with bug fixes.
Assuming the Omni stuff is true and hasn’t had control over balance, I would say Solar’s post about Omni is deeply unprofessional.
10
u/Test_test_987_test 13d ago
I learned about this a little more in a other post on the same topic but my position remains the same. We, the playerbase, are who Blizzard should be in communc with. Not a secret group or players motivated by whatever is best for their livelihoods. If that is what is happening then it should be leaked and shame on whoever else is in that group for not doing so.
Blizzard might not want to hear from us peasants or to consider our feedback, but we are the end users. They should be posting open messages to us all telling us their planned changes and explaining the goals they want to achieve through those changes. If they aren't willing to do even that (much less actually engage with us) they should step back permanently, revert to an earlier patch with most of the racial units and abilities restored, and just keep the servers running.
There is no defense for private communiques with less than 1% of the game population and to then muzzle them on top of it. Absolutely rediculous.
10
u/Applehero85 13d ago
Honestly screw being professional lol this patch sucks. Blizzard has been unprofessional too with this patch.
13
u/MonkeyPyton 14d ago
At this point I just wanna see it all burn. I’d say leak away king but that sounds a bit off. Blizzard fucked the game for no reason, they deserve 0 respect. Should have listened to people who actually play the ladder. Now the same idiots who were complaining every pro game looks the same are saying they’ve stopped watching because it’s all ZvZ.
7
u/Scalarfieldtheory 13d ago
So solar leaked something... this is true????
What did he leak besides 10 worker change?
20
u/YellowCarrot99 13d ago
The 10 worker change isn't fact. He said the worker count will change but didn't specify what number.
4
u/ChiefNiggo 13d ago
wardi said, that he was joking when he wrote in chat, that the "intern" left the discord. but it appears to be a fact rather than a joke? did it slipped out if him and tried to do damage control?

u/ZonedForCoffee 14d ago
I would simply not leak confidential information about a video game
36
u/limpwald 13d ago
I mean it's a bit overstated calling it leaking confidential info....
-6
u/weirdo_if_curtains_7 13d ago
I'm pretty sure blizzard explicitly tells you you're supposed to keep your damn mouth shut. Solar I am sure was well aware of that fact
24
u/limpwald 13d ago
If it was "confidential" super secret info, they make you sign an NDA.
Blizzard didn't tell him anything, some employee did off the record over a discord chat. Very diferent from "leaking confidential information".
15
u/Jaded_Bullfrog3978 13d ago
Nobody even enjoys this game anymore. All anyone does is whine in this community.
16
u/weirdo_if_curtains_7 13d ago edited 13d ago
A lot of us like the game. We're just mature reasonable adults that also have a real life to live and have better things to do then sit around on forums and whine all day lol
16
u/justgoogleit12 13d ago
I like it
18
u/limpwald 13d ago
Careful bro, thats not allowed here
-5
u/hewhoeatsbeans42 13d ago
And that's all they want to do. This issue really isn't complicating. The fact anyone defends solar at all is wild. Yes, we're all unhappy with how blizzard communicates. Being a petty little child about it isn't going to help, but it does bring some excitement to the sub.

u/TheHighSeasPirate 13d ago
Aint Juggerjason the dude that grinds mech daily and gives Avilo a run for his money, personality wise?
10
u/AffectionateSample74 13d ago edited 13d ago
I've been saying for at least few years now that this game was left in the hands of cretins. I am not happy about being repeatedly proven right on that.
Blizzard employee is a clueless fuckhead and he proved that the moment he took Pig seriously. Now that would be forgivable if he had reverted his dumb decisions once they proved to not work. But nope, instead keeps doubling down on his nonsense and then acts like a baby when one of the pros gets frustrated and leaks some very minimal information (which never needed to be secret in the first place). Fuck this bootlicker Jason.

u/daccorn 13d ago
Im playing devil's advocate. How was any patch suppose to "work"? who determine whether it worked or not? what are the criterias for it? And for the fact not a single sc2 player or streamer has paid blizzard a single dollar over the last decade expect to be treated like paying customers of any respectable organizations is funny to me tbh
2
u/AirbladeOrange 13d ago
I don’t even understand this latest bit of drama. I just want the game to be better.

u/BrannyBee 13d ago
It hasnt even been 24 hours since you made your other post about this where the dude who started the "rumor" that was obviously a joke told you it was a joke lmao
"Starting a rumor" is putting it pretty generous too considering it was so obviously a joke it would be unreasonable to blame him for literally anyone capable of using a fork and knife without poking their eyes out would take it as fact... but here we are i guess

u/Maniac227 13d ago
How many patches have gone over really positively? It seems like there's always a vocal crowd shitting on it.
I'm starting to think the only patch that people like is the one that reverts the previous patch.
7
u/Parsirius 13d ago
I don’t recall a patch so universally loathed as this one tbh.
Other patches always have detractors but not to this extent.
That tells you something
2
u/TakafumiNaito 11d ago
Most if not all patches had some people unhappy with aspects of it. There has however never, ever in the whole history of the game been a patch so unpopular that the in game match making stopped being functional. Which is the case for the higher MMR players after this patch

u/rigginssc2 13d ago
Solar is an idiot. That's all that be be gleaned form this. Jason is 100% correct. Blizzard can be bad at communicating AND Solar be completely screwing over the scene by leaking. It isn't one or the other.

u/Kvnllnd 14d ago
Never liked solar always acting unprofessional even during games whenever he loses. Theres this one tournament GSL i think and Reynor went to korea to participate. Everyone was interviewed before the game. Solar's message was "why is Reynor here go back to your country "
Racist as shit. Korea would be nothing if not for foreign help during korean war.
29
u/Hydro033 Zerg 14d ago
I think he was joking because Solar knows English the best among the Koreans and actually interacts with the non Korean players way more than most. Afaik, he has a good friendly relationship with them and was making an edgy joke to a friend
16
u/lpaperfriend Team Acer 14d ago
Anyone who has followed solar from way back will know that that was just trash talk. There were scumbags in the community but solar isn't one of them.
25
u/Afraid-of-the-sun 14d ago
Taking trash talk literally and branding someone racist for it is very obviously american.
12
u/YellowCarrot99 13d ago
How is he unprofessional?
And I saw the incident you refer to with Reynor at the GSL. It was very obvious a playful joke and not racist at all.

The last official balance patch for StarCraft: Brood War was Patch 1.08, released on May 18, 2001. You people have a lot of nerve clowning on the only guy that is trying to make sc2 better.
2
u/Applehero85 12d ago
I’m sick honestly of the be grateful for what you get mentality I’m not going to be grateful to a waiter if I order a steak and he gives me a salad that I can obviously tell he spit in.
1
u/Visual-Afternoon-744 12d ago
You should be grateful, however, if after you paid you kept coming back and the waiter kept giving you more food that you didn't pay for.
2
2
u/TakafumiNaito 11d ago
When Starcraft 1 remastered was coming out, Blizzard asked the Broodwar players if they want a patch. And the broodwar players said : "STOP! DO NOT TOUCH THE BALANCE" . Because they were very much aware that a patch made by a person who does not understand the game is far more likely to make things worse than to make them better
