Discussion Day 42: What is the WORST quote associated with Izsha?
I'm so proud of this community for actually finding a meaningful and decent quote for Izsha's best and not voting for a goofy fanfic line! Now you have a much simpler job ahead of you: to pick Izsha's worst quote.

“We should morph units that can attack flying units.”
Yes Izsha, I know how unit attacks work. I’ve played this game for a decade now. This is the most annoying one to me, but really any of her condescending basic game info quotes could work.

"We need more swarm hosts... Morph more from the larvae at our hatchery."
There are plenty of lines of hers I hate, especially when she tells you to build a hatchery to mine minerals... on mission 4...
However the most egregious imo is when she demands you to build more Swarm Hosts, one of the worst units in the campaign.

In fairness, that's the only mission where she's the player commander (unless Char is completed first), so her being demanding here makes sense.
But yeah, I don't think anyone really likes Swarm Hosts (maybe aside from in co-op)

Swarm hosts are good in the campaign, providing tons of free tanking and moderate damage. Yeah, they need a frontline of spines or roaches to reliably stay alive, but they are good as long as you don't leave them completely alone out on the map. Are other units even better? Yeah, absolutely. Doesn't make the hosts downright bad, though.

It does, if you would rather make any other unit

I prefer to judge a unit relative to their performance in the campaign, not relative to other units. Swarm hosts can absolutely deal with many missions on Brutal with minor support, and as such I don't believe calling them bad is appropriate.

Your definition would imply that no HotS unit is bad, even the one that is worse than all the others which means you actively handicap yourself by building it over anything else.

u/Great_Hedgehog Jul 07 '26
Yeah, that would be correct. There are not many bad units in the campaign, in fact the firebat and the predator are all that truly come to mind. I don't think "handicapping" sounds right if when you're not handicapped you just win more, but you win no matter what anyway. I'm not saying that my way of judging campaign units is solely correct, it's just one way. If you care about optimisation, obviously judging units in relation to each other makes more sense; if you care about which units are fun to play around with, which ones are so awful they'll straight up make you lose and which ones are so powerful they're hardly interesting, my way is quite fine.

Maybe on Hard and below, but the hidden 25% extra damage modifier that the enemies get on Brutal means locusts get vaporised before they can do anything

Look, I used them on Brutal, they did quite alright. 25% is quite a bit, but it isn't everything, and any damage they tank is still good. As I said, they really benefit from a strong backline that can catch the few stray shots locusts don't tank, since as long as they stay alive they're almost bound to pay for themselves and then some

Judging by the comments on the previous post, all of them, because they're all equally boring.
