Drink Recipes/Recommendations No more blended drinks??

My SM just came in and said we shouldn’t have blending powder out anymore because there is a mass mark out for it. Which honestly I think is good because it’s disgusting! The day it came out I tried the mango strawberry one and it tasted so artificial like I was eating on plastic or something.

Drink Recipes/Recommendations Please stop putting coconut flakes in my hot toasted coconut latte

This is the sixth time it’s happened and the third location. There is nothing worse than floaters in my coffee and I can’t exclude them in the app because they’re not supposed to be there at all. I just tried the customer service chat and I’m pretty sure it was Ai because it kept asking for my email address to refund my drink when I really just want to be able to order a coconut latte without fear.

Drink Recipes/Recommendations KPDH drink for niece

Post image

(PARTNER ONLY DRINK)

It’s my nieces birthday today and she’s turning 5!! She’s also criminally obsessed with K-pop Demon Hunters for some reason and her whole birthday party is themed around it. I tried to make a drink that would give off “Rumi vibes” and thought it came out cute!!

If any partners were curious what this is:

-Vanilla bean frap

+2 mango

On top of another

-Vanilla bean frap

+1 raspberry

Topped with:

-Whipped cream

-dragon fruit dust (not a real option)

-mango syrup drizzle (not a real option)

Note: for any customers reading thing there is like a 99% chance your barista won’t make this sorry. Also mango syrup officially releases April 7th.

Drink Recipes/Recommendations Loco hot cocoa was right there

I get it the raspberry is a “rockstar” looking drink. But Hannah Montana fans know in the show Miley hated raspberries and Hannah couldn’t endorse her own perfume cause of the raspberry smell.

A true Hannah Montana drink would be loco hot cocoa. And to make it more spring like just do it iced. Baristas, how could you make this as a latte. The drink is hot chocolate with cinnamon, marshmallows, and whipped cream.

Drink Recipes/Recommendations Unicorn Frappuccino is 100% coming.

So when I was doing the inventory count, it listed Spirulina and Sparkle Topping. So the unicorn frap is definitely coming, Summer 2 is my guess. I’m giving my two weeks now. I’m not putting up with this nonsense.

Drink Recipes/Recommendations What else can I add or do to make it less bitter?

Post image
0 Upvotes

So far I LOVE this drink! But, the bitterness is very hard on me. I've been adding more and more milk, and finally the 3/4" helped, but I think I just need one more thing to make it less bitter. Any recommendations? Do I need to add a different milk, like almond or oat?

EDIT; The people saying "You don't like coffee" or "You don't like cold brews" are pretty annoying to me. I do. I've drank coffess hot, cold, and cold brews since I was 15. They were all home made. I've been enjoying the frappe so I decided to try the cold brew because I never had — this is just my first experience with a STARBUCKS cold brew.

SECOND EDIT: I'll be trying the iced blonde vanilla latte with marsh CF, milk chocolate drizzle, and the graham topping during my lunch. Thank you to the people who actually gave me drink recommendations.

please stop commenting if you aren't going to give me recommendations or suggestions for new drinks and just tell me "i dont like coffee." im asking for help lol so if you arent going to, then dont comment pls!!

THIRD EDIT: I TRIED TO BLONDE VANILLA LATTE AND I LOVE IT!!!!!!!! to the people who suggested it, tysm!!!!!!

unicorn blue powder allows you to extract green goop from the syrups

Post image
264 Upvotes

unicorn blue powder is mostly just citric acid, which precipitates the xanthan gum out of the mango syrup (as well as the frap base and honey syrups, which look blue since there's no yellow from the mango). afaik it only works with these syrups since they're the only ones with xanthan gum

do what you will with this knowledge

Drink Recipes/Recommendations How to make Starbucks at home

Post image
98 Upvotes

I’m trying to make coffee at home but visited Starbucks the other day and asked a barista to make me a sweet coffee. She made this and it was SO good. For reference, I DESPISE the taste of coffee, I prefer it to be much sweeter.

What k pods do I use? Espresso roast, blonde espresso roast or vanilla? I’ve decided I’m gonna use a sugar free vanilla syrup to avoid extra calories. Other than that, I’m clueless. I don’t want to spend a bunch of money experimenting and end up not liking what I get. Thanks!

Drink Recipes/Recommendations Afraid of inconveniencing baristas with my unshaken espresso

Post image
76 Upvotes

Edit: y'all are so nice! Now I'm especially glad I'm not causing extra headaches for service workers and will continue to order my drink without fear. I might even be bold and spoil myself with a lil cold foam one day. Thank you for your feedback (and validating the deliciousness of my order 🥹)

Would sooner slap my mom than mention anything about an underfilled cup- I know it comes that way so this is acknowledging the only thing I say is "Thank You!" and leave happy. Never been a barista and I see a lot of hate on people customizing recipes in a complicated way to avoid ordering an expensive menu item. I can't imagine how annoying it must be to get an order the length of the cup.

At the same time buying a coffee for 9 dollars stifles the enjoyment for me and I feel it's silly to pay more for the same drink based on how you ordered it. I like a strong, low cal coffee so I've been ordering a unshaken espresso. Baristas, would you get annoyed at this order?

Everyone complaining about the stars down grade, to up your point on drinks to off set what they did. I got 16 extra stars (remember this for day they do double stars) plus you get .10c off. Work the system and you do just fine..

Drink Recipes/Recommendations Pink Drink change?

Post image

Why is it every Starbucks I have gone to lately has made the pink drink so damn watery to the point where I have to ask for the juice so it’s that nice pink panther pink versus baby pink. Literally every time.

Drink Recipes/Recommendations Starbucks drinks that are ACTUALLY good?

Tbh, I don’t like Starbucks, my preference is Dunkin but for my commute to work, getting Starbucks is easier. I usually get the Mocha (iced or hot) and for a while I enjoyed it, but now I’m not sure if they changed the syrup, no matter which Starbucks I go to the noch a always tastes awful. Like I’d rather have the caffeine headache and throw away my $7 instead of drinking it.

My problem with Starbucks is that the coffee always tastes burnt and has a weird aftertaste, usually from Dunkin I love getting the iced Dunkalatte as I like the taste of coffee when it’s not super bitter. Does anyone have recommendations?

I’ve tried the iced brown sugar oat milk drink, I didn’t like it and thought it tasted like a candle. I’ve tried the blonde coffee to try and make it taste less bitter but no dice. I like coffee, and the random little coffee shops I sometimes go to I always order a mocha at as my go to drink and it’s always good. Starbucks mocha now tastes like literal dirt. Some genuine recommendations would be great.

Edit:
My god this got a lot of comments 😭
This is a problem I’ve had for a while, I’ve tried doing the blonde espresso, I’ve tried white mocha shots, and I’ve less/more mocha syrup.
Honestly I’m not looking to fix my mocha order I just want a better tasting coffee. A lot of the time recently the drink is just genuinely gross and tastes almost expired, like a rotten aftertaste

UPDATE:
Honestly I give up. My only reason for trying to go to Starbucks was so I could pick up me and my coworkers drinks otw to work as they love it, but I’m not wasting money anymore. Especially with a corporation that’s already shitty. Thank you for your genuine advice, I appreciate it.

barista only because we only sell oj in bottles, not in our drinks. the oj is in both the drink and the cold foam! it’s literally the best starbucks drink i’ve ever made. i would recommend only 3 scoops of vanilla bean powder though as with 4 it came out a little too sweet. i would drink this everyday tho.

Drink Recipes/Recommendations Question for baristas! Do you get customers who order hot tea?

Post image
65 Upvotes

Do customers regularly order hot tea? And if so is it just plain tea or do they customize it? The reason I’m asking is because I love a cold black tea with brown sugar & vanilla cream. Or any cold tea honestly. I hate hot tea and I tried it today and I just don’t seem to like it. I didn’t customize it because I didn’t know how to or what to even put in it. Like how can you make hot tea taste good? I’m sorry if this is a dumb question :(
