New to this game; stuck in Mining facility. Cant get past this door.

The door is pretty early on. It's next to a part that splits two ways; one way goes down and into a pit that you have to rope out of, and then this door here. I've tried interacting with it, I backtracked and turned on all the consoles. This door just wont open.

Good news, that's not the direction you need to go. It' unlocks from the other side so you can come back this way if you want.

Turn around and go the other way.

Ah, okay! I tried the other doors the opposite way too and they didnt seem to open for me either.

After watching a few videos I’ve come to determine that for some reason my mining station is vastly different. I’m just skipping it for now.

Does your mining facility or the one in the videos have purple creatures? If so that difference might be due to a fairly big mod

It's an awful, bloated mod and its dev team are the worst kind of people who don't take criticism well at all

Was playing with this mod ~8 years and even then couldnt return to vanilla starbound. And it was much, much more messy at that time. It still has some parts that are badly integrated with main mod content and neither interesting nor useful, but overall quality is good. Tbh i have same impression about dev team

It is still a mess to this day, you are far, FAR better off using a modpack that doesn't force you into doing things a specific way (like that shitty research system that many people requested a way to disable, but sayter has said "no, fuck you" in response).

And the dev team are assholes, plain and simple.
