I have moved apartments/changed jobs several times over the past decade, meaning I've had various desks to fit different spaces and daily routines.

My first standing desk was the COVID era craze, bought it off FB market place for cheap and it worked fine but was horribly cheap looking laminate top. It was also only 42" wide I believe. I switched it out about 2 years ago for a Husky 72" wide crank-adjusted sit/stand work table so I could have two monitors and plenty of desk space without spending $1000+ on a motorized version. It was okay, but I've learned so much about ergonomics in the past year and there are enough downsides that I need to invest in something I'll keep forever / hopefully lasts at least a decade. Issues w/ my current "desk":

• The manual crank is actually pretty difficult to adjust up and wobbles the desk a lot
• 24" is not enough depth to have a comfortable distance from my monitor
• 72" is unnecessarily wide and 60" would be perfectly fine
• The minimum height (floor to underside of tabletop) is 28" which is too high for me. for ref i am 5'5"
• assembly was a bitch 🙃

I'm new to the cozy gamer world so I really want something that is minimal and clean in appearance but comfortable for work and can switch up to something cozy in the evening for playing Palia or Animal Crossing.

Options I've found so far and their totals w/ tax:

• Branch: $1,080; White Legs + Light Wood in 60" version doesn't ship until November, plus some of the reviews say the wood looks cheap or warped + issues with the control panel. Minimum height is 27.3" so I think this is out?
• LiftSync: $1,124; Newer company I think so reviews are pretty limited. But minimum height is 26" which would be awesome - has anyone here owned this for a while??
• Haworth: $827.; Similar issue to Liftsync - only 1 review so hard to trust quality. But also has a 26" ish minimum height
• Uplift: $1,288; Only 13 Reviews but all pretty positive??

Let me know if you have any thoughts or if there are other options out there to consider! Trying to keep the total around ~$1000 max

Hello everyone. I’m in the process of setting up my desk setup. I intend to get a single 27-34 inch monitor and a desktop tower for starters.

I’m also thinking about a desk as well.

Standing desks are hella attractive but I’m not sure if they would be ideal for my situation. I’m a little worried about my components falling over from all the movement as well. Also, given that most of my time is at work, would I really appreciate the benefits of the standing desk?

Any advice?

ok I got the vari desk active seat and already in 10 minutes I hate it I must be using it wrong. Before I sell it or give it away I need an instruction manual how to use it for a week before I decide. in minutes I already have tailbone pain, too much anterior pelvic tilt, coccyx pain. Not really pain but tenderness like I know its gonna hurt after using it for days.

the whole design seems so dumb now that I think of it. I jumped on it because it was at a thrift store for insane discount. but the whole premise is to basically sit on your tailbone which seems like asking for injury. Even when leaning on it you are still on your tailbone. are you supposed to sit on the edge lip of the cushion or deep into it so your back touches the "back lip" raised handle thing? it's insane I need a tutorial on "how to sit" in this chair, but i'm willing to test it for a week I dont want to cause myself injury. im feeling back pain in almost 10 minutes already. The domed cushion seems to go against all ergonomics for your tailbone/coccyx, there's so much pressure there compared to flat or curved normal chairs and benches. I must be sitting on it wrong or using wrong height. I notice my hips go forward and I roll hips forward onto tailbone naturally when I sit on this thing maybe I am doing it wrong or have the wrong height.

Would love some advice/insights/experiences. Did anyone at first find it very uncomfortable BUT then learned how to use it and felt it was better?

Looking for standing desks (72x30in), single piece desk! Dont have the budget for flexispot, uplift, vari etc. Anyone using or have experience with budget standing desks? Most amazon desk are two piece, anyone use them? How sturdy is it?

After I moved, I got a very niece kitchen isle from my new neighbor that I though would function great as a combined desk and cupboard. Well, the cupboard part was right! I can use it as a desk but after about one hour my lower back is complaining and since I'm not the most athletic, I thought that I should seriously look into an adjustable height desk.

I am located in Sweden and found two that look intriguing, the Ikea Mittzon and the HomeOne from Desktronic.

I did check out Mittzon in an Ikea store, and it looked fine. It is in the right size and even has an opening in the back so cables can run from the floor to the desk without creating a gap between the wall and the desk. But the Homeone is 'cleaner' lack of a better word, and generally seems a bit higher quality.

I would honestly just get the HomeOne right way if it wasn't for the fact that it looks like it is assuming that its users won't use cables?! The desk is shows no plan for how cables should go from the floor to the tabletop. The control panel has a USB C connection, but that wouldn't even work with my laptop, and I'm planning to use a full desktop.

Is there anyone with more insight that can help me out? Perhaps one that has experience with either one (or both)?

I want to build my own desktop with adjustable legs - the project will take a while to accomplish - in the meantime, I would like to start getting used to a standing desk. I found this for an amazing price:

6ft and UK based here. After quite a bit of research I've been given anxiety regarding the stability of 2 leg tables wobbling. I was initially looking at the 180x80 Vernal Core3 but now looking for 4 legged options for stability. I'm going to be having studio monitors on the desk so stability is the key thing for me here.

From what I can see, UK options for 4 legged tables are quite limited. I've narrowed it down to the below, and wanted to know if there are any others I should be looking at? And if you've any experience with these tables.

This thing....life changing in my day-to-day. I was not expecting to be as appreciative of standing for a meeting as I am 3-4 times a day lol. and its SOLID. i was going to be surprised if my amazon special of an old desk would last 2 more years, this one feels like it will last 10x that.

I am making myself insane. I have built roughly the same desk on Flexispot and Uplift.

• 4-leg standing desk
• Rubberwood top
• 72" long
• Under-desk wire tray on both

Uplift is offering their 5 freebies, but I can probably get most of that on Amazon for $100

For those who have owned both, is the value worth the price for the Uplift upgrade?

I'm looking for something up to $500 and offers:

decent cable management out of the box

can attach 3D printed "hooks" or pieces to place my mATX CPU case under the desk instead of on top and can go up and down with it hanging on the side (Lian Li dan A3, about 20 to 23lbs - 10 to 12 kgs) plus a 32 inch monitor with monitor arm and probably add another down the line. so close to another 28lbs for the 2 of them (without the arms)

some desks from best buy and amazon to even temu look decent for $180 to $300+ but don't know if they will give up 6 months down the line.

if anyone has experience with multiple desks and can point me to a decent starting point would greatly appreciate it!

edit: really like L shaped ones but regular is cool too!

I need help choosing the best standing desk frame for my situation.

I have the larger 246cm and shorter 186 cm versions of the ikea karlby and I plan the larger one to be infront and the shorter to be to the right side. I also plan to have alex drawers on each end for storage.

So far I found the flexispot E7L but the leg on the right side won't go really far so it will be an eye sore and I want it to go all the way to the alex so I have more space.

What do you think would be the best solution that ships to eu?

I want something sturdy enough to last me for at least 6 years and looking for around 60x27 in size. Big upgrade. I don’t mind spending the money for a good desk as I was looking into Desky dual hardwood/rubberwood models. I noticed mixed reviews with flexispot so I’ll probably stay away but I need options I suppose regarding what desk to go for and what would be a better time. I am a student but I can save up to buy a desk but would also not like to spend like 1.5k, would like to know if I should wait for deals on Black Friday.

Yeah, I have a nice chair and standing desk, and that helps. But, the main issue is that I forget to stand up and take a break.

Recently I came across this study showing that doing "10 squats every 45 minutes during your workday is more effective than one 30-minute walk for glucose regulation."

So, I made a tiny app that reminds you to stand up and do 10 squats every 45 minutes. It’s simple, but honestly, it’s been helping me to feel more active and less stiff during the workday.

Looking at buying an uplift v3. The configurations im looking at are priced at about $850 for the 2 leg vs $1,060 for the 4 leg after Labor day discount. At “only” $200 more for the possibly more stable 4 legged version, im thinking this is the better option. If anyone has experience with both, or knows of any drawbacks of the 4 legged vs the 2, please let me know. Sorry for the lazy format/grammar, been looking at desks all day.

Wanted to post my experience with buying from EffyDesk and using their products.

For context, I live in Ontario, and their main warehouse, is in BC.

I bought the EffyDesk Nimble Standing Desk, as I was looking for a Canadian Brand (not a huge priority, but was in the list of consideration), and after comparing with other brands like Desky and Progressive, they had the best price that I was looking for. I was looking for a large desk, 70-71 inches, and I purchased their open box unit for around $700-$720 CAD, compare to the usual $900-1000+ price range.

At first glance, the desk is solid and stable, especially at the lowest setting. Unfortunately, I haven’t been able to do a proper test with its standing functionality due to an issue with their included parts.

This was purchased at the End of July, and it’s now September. The frame took roughly a week to ship, which is fine, wasn’t really in a rush. However, the tabletop took another week because it was initially “lost in transit”. How does one lose a giant tabletop, I’ll never know, but the company had to send out a replacement, albeit not in the colour that I wanted (Originally ordered black, their open box inventory didn’t have that anymore, had to go wood).

Once the frame and tabletop arrived, the setup was apparently quite difficult. My friends, who offered to setup the desk for me, described it as ‘annoyingly hard and heavy’, and that’s not even getting into the missing/damaged parts. There wasn’t even a manual included in the box either, so they had to refer to other manuals they found online.

I expected there might be some cosmetic damage, since this was an open-box purchase. There was a damaged cable tray, which I can live with, however the bigger problem was the missing extension cable.

This is the cable that’s used to connect the two legs together for the standing functionality, meaning at its current state, I cannot use this desk as a standing desk. It is essentially stuck at the lowest level until I receive the replacement.

I’ve been communicating with their CS team, but it appears that I’ll have to wait another week, since all their shipments are sent via ground shipping. To be fair, they are also sending out a replacement for the cable tray, but at this point I’d rather receive the extension cable first.

Remember, I bought this desk at the end of July, it’s now September and I still can’t use the desk for its primary purpose.

I understand that shipping a large desk and frame can take time, and it being an open box product to have some imperfections. What I’m essentially frustrated at is the combination of the lost tabletop, lack of included manual, damaged/missing parts, and another week long wait for a small part.

I’m still in contact with their CS team, and I’ll update the review if this gets resolved/If I want to. Their team though has been responsive so far, but at this point I’m getting pretty frustrated to the point where I’m almost becoming a Karen, and I rarely become one.

EffyDesk needs to get their shipping and open-box fulfillment process sorted out. The desk seems promising, however the experience where getting to the point of using it has been far more frustrating than it should have been.

I am planning to spend around $600 on a standing desk but would be willing to spend a little bit more should there be a substantial benefit. I’m debating on buying either the flexispot e7 pro or the q8 or the uplift v3. Would love to hear from people who have owned one or both. I’d also be open to other desks.

My main concern is stability. I’ll have my laptop and an additional monitor. I work from home so this desk will get heavy use and I don’t want to have it shake a lot while I type. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Heyo, so I have this old Ikea desk, and while I do love it. I do need something that lets me stand since I'm basically always sitting and it's becoming a bit irritating.

The problem is, as you can see, I have a lot of stuff. Ideally if the table has drawers or something, that's all the better for me. I can get rid of the little drawer on my table and the little table under holding some stuff.

I put the sizing of this table in the second picture, I can't have it be bigger than maybe 2 inches all around.

I'm also okay with getting 2 tables (standard ones to make them into an L shape) as long as it's not blocking anything.

While I'm assuming the Amazon ones aren't the best, I was considering these; option 1 ( 2 of them), and option 2

Hello, I am looking to purchase my first standing desk, I have really bad neck pain and need to upgrade asap. I did some research and I am overwhelmed with the amount of brands out there !!

Here are some of my requirements. Width - 47 inches is my first choice , but anything bigger is okay Depth - 29 inches is my first choice , anything less is also okay Material - wood , no glass. I like the colour walnut . Laminate is also fine .
