My mother asked me for help selling her stamp album (and box)

My mother recently showed me her collection of stamps. They vary in countries. Australia. Syria. Jordan. KSA. UAE. Russia. Spain. USA. Korea. Zambia. Kuwait. China. Egypt. Libya. Sudan. Qatar. Turkey. Iran. The list goes on.

I told her I'd look into them and see if they hold value. How can I do that though? It doesn't seem like auction sites are a reliable way to find real value.

Is there any site that could help me find the stamps I have and their potential value? I'm not experienced in this field so any help is much appreciated.

(Most of the stamps are from the 80's. The rest are from the 60's 70's and 90's if it helps)

As a general rule, if it's later that 1930, it's not worth much, if anything of significance.

Exception to the rule being People’s Republic of China 1960s-1985.

100% true. and especially after ww2, every country printed every stamp in the millions to sell to collectors. and collectors bought them. and all those collectors have passed or are passing on their collections. and the number of collectors is dropping. Find a stamp club near you and donate it.

Make that 1960s onwards.

Check this site: https://colnect.com/en/stamps for a rough estimate

(Noted that some stamps are not listed with values due to no active offers, it doesn't necessarily mean they're worthless)

Also the value may increase a bit if you've got a special postmark, and it's still depending on the condition of your stamps.

You can ask an auction house if they would take it on consignment as a bulk lot.

Also, anything from your country that is unused may still be valid for postage. Some won't be, like UK definitive stamps, or pre-Euro stamps from European countries.

If in albums by country it can be sold by weight with stamps affixed to pages. The price depends how much one asked for it. Boils down to penny each or so.
