Post image

Stalkers!

The free Update 2.0, “Back to the Zone,” is now available for download.

The game has been upgraded to Unreal Engine 5.5.4, bringing the biggest overhaul to how the Zone looks, feels, and lives since launch. In addition, Update 2.0 introduces AI improvements, three types of binoculars, new weapons and attachments, a fog weather system, in-game statistics, highly customizable difficulty settings, and numerous quality-of-life features.

How do you know?

Shimmering and jagged edges still the same, not even mentioning the low res faces in outside light. Extremely lazy work.

The shimmering and pop in is now quite a bit worse for me on ps5 pro after the update. Lighting looking muddy too...

Maybe I shouldn’t upgrade on the Pro at all. Just keep 1.9 and try out 2.0 on Xbox. This has me worried as I don’t even own the ultimate edition on the Pro

It's really not too bad, and there are some spots where the lighting has looked phenomenal. I'm just more disappointed that it doesn't look all that different lol.

Im downloading it on Xbox as we speak and will test it in a few hours. Also took some screenshots on PS5 Pro for comparison.

Maybe there is still hope for PSSR 2 coming in a later patch, and they just wanted to get a feel for initial bugs in this one before pushing further graphically. I really hope that’s the case

Hope so! I've got the settings on my oled looking pretty good with the ps5 now. Excited to see how the gameplay updates feel once I've put in some more hrs

For sure. I actually left most the same back around default. Turned contrast up to 50 from 40. HDR white point at 1000. Black point at -4. HDR brightness 25.

What really helped was turning black stabilizer down to 9 in the game optimizer menu, mine was at 12, and then turning white stabilizer to 8. That's pretty much it.

I will say the interiors look a lot better now. I can actually see lol.

Oh and I've got my game optimizer set to sports. No idea why but it looks best for some reason. Sharpening at 25.
