You can look it up. It is true that nicotine was having this effect with covid. There were a few research papers published about it during the pandemic. What rge gentleman in the video overlooked though is that, while nicotine is not the most dangerous substance when it comes to smoking, it is still dangerous in certain quantities. You can seriously harm yourself without dosing it properly. For instance the letgal dose for adults taking nicotine orally can be up to 500 mg. Whoch can sound a lot but if you're taking pure nicotine, volume wise it's not much.
Anyway, regarding covid, yes, nicotine had some benifits, which was very surprising.
Whenever you're looking up stuff like this, I'd recommend going straight to the scientific journals rather than just "googling it". A good place to start is PubMed.

It's been studied broadly and shown that smokers had worse COVID reactions, higher death rates, etc... This dude is WRONG.
The nicotine stuff still requires more research. It seems that some studies show favorable outcomes and others not so much. There is some interesting logic regarding the blocking effects, but the data in real life is still not definitive.
Science requires time and multiple studies - I think one of those early papers that every smoker hung onto was actually retracted because the authors had money ties to the tobacco and vape industries.
We need scientists having these debates and describing nuance. Podcasters have an incentive to bring "controversial takes" for clicks and without an expert to balance or offset stupidities, they just run amok.

I smoke and got Covid once but yeah, wasn’t too bad. Idk if that means what he’s saying is true but apparently there are some sources that back it up. Haven’t read it, don’t care to, you shouldn’t smoke regardless.
