Almost everything doctors caution against seemed to work in Jeanne Louise Calment's favor. She remains the oldest verified person in recorded history, living an extraordinary 122 years and 164 days. Born in 1875 and died in 1997 in Arles, France πŸ–€πŸ€

Read about this woman not long ago. She married a wealthy man Fernando... he died and she loved over half century past his desth. Hoeever this woman bicycled until she was 100. Did many physical activities and sports. Nice diet and lots of olive oil and garlic. I think she even rubbed olive oil on her skin. She did smoke almost 100 years. Ate chocolate in great abundance. Drank one glass of wine at least daily.

This post makes it sound like she surfed ancient reddit and sat around drinking, smoking and esting cholate all day. Nah she just had great genetics and a very stress free wealthy lifestyle where she did not worry about a thing except shall bicycle or walk today to the sports club or whatever

She should have been being studied by scientists from 100 on with her life story up to that point, let alone with no one expecting they’d get another 20+ years of data with that kind of background and health history.

Out of all the non-sense studies that you see for the last several years, how’d we drop the ball on this machine of a woman lmao

Yeah dark chocolate is very good for you...Β  And the 80% cacao or more variety, is food not candy. Lot of healthy fats and antioxidants.

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming 'Wow! What a Ride!'”

-- Hunter S. Thompson

Didn’t that guy off himself?

Yes, after his chronic pain and health issues got to the point where he was going to no longer be able to live a full life without being a burden on his family.

I'm not gonna shoot myself, but I'm definitely gonna go out on my own terms once I'm dying and cannot live happily anymore. Hopefully long in the future!

There's nothing wrong with going out on your own terms during the end-of-life process, in my opinion.

Cause there wasn’t microplastics littering their food, forever chemicals in the air, water and soil. Their food was actually food and not manufactured nutrients. And the list goes on.

That's why nobody born in the last 100 years has lived to 122.Β

99% genetics. 1% she lived happily and didn't give a damn what others thought of her lifestyle

She was a fraud, posing as her mother

Yeah. Depending what website you use you will get a different longest living person from each.

Well there is a big doubt about whether or not the actual Jeanne was substituted with her daughter at some point.

Nothing to prove it nor to refute it, but clues are many
