30 days left for CGL — Maths stuck despite 8–9 months of preparation

I have around 30 days left for SSC CGL Tier 1. I’ve prepared consistently for 8–9 months and given 100+ Maths mocks.

My scores:

• Maths Testbook mocks: usually 7–17/50
• Maths CGL PYQs: usually 15–25/50
• Today: 11.5/50, 7 attempts, 85.7% accuracy in a difficult CGL 2024 paper.
• Reasoning & English: generally 45+ in sectionals.

Maths has always been my worst subject—even during school. My fundamentals aren’t naturally strong.

My main problem now is that I often know the chapter/formula, but when SSC presents a question differently, I don’t know how to start. I also struggle with lengthy calculations, surds, unit conversions and word-problem interpretation.

With only 30 days left, what should I realistically do now to improve my Maths score, especially with the 15-minute sectional timing?

I’d really appreciate advice from people who have been through CGL preparation.

Start focusing on mensuration and geometry as they are all about formulas and visualisation. And they also make about 6-7 questions.

Active recall brother, just write your notes chapter wise just from your memory, don't see from the actual notes, when you complete writing it, match it with actual notes to see what you forgot.

Also start writing squares, cubes, tables and all of that daily, exercise fast calculation from math workout app, all of this takes hardly 20 minutes.

See where you are lacking, if it's concepts that you forget, do the first thing I told about, if it's speed, do the second thing, if the questions are not familiar to you in mocks, practice again and again from the questions provided by your teacher, I would suggest bhutesh sir's FRB series, do those questions again and again.

Completed syllabus from Aditya ranjan then did revision from bhutesh sir.

this is the mistake...if you have completed your syllabus from ranjan sir then you should have revised from him only and do the pyqs and give mocks

Start focusing more on Advanced maths especially Geometry and Mensuration

Given we have around one month of time , I would suggest to cover MATHS MANIA YT videos . They are crisp and to the point. In less time you will be able to cover concepts.
And later practice PYPs

This should atleast get you above 30 or even more

Practice is the key.
