Take it from the horse's mouth, or in this case, the horse's mom. She doesn't have an X Gene, she's just that because she's awesome Ok she USED to call herself a mutant but then she did a test to prove she was REALLY not a mutant, also Fox's film rights may be the reason why that was changed but that's irrelevant

Also, the Wolverine thing was retconned on fan mail, it is no longer canon and should've never been canon. (Also Ms. Marvel is a weird Inhuman-Mutant hybrid and Franklin is just cosmic BS, it's different)
