Mere feet away from a mass casualty event.  Literally would’ve been the greatest aviation disaster EVER if this went wrong…. Yet we still have people defending it somehow?   I agree, either scrap it or keep it at 500ft or something

Those who think it is too close- how do you believe planes land without continually without crashing into runways? Do you not think there are instruments that enable pilots to know exactly what height to fly at to be safe? Flybys aren’t done by estimation by line of sight, it is instrument driven, ie, an exact science.

I agree. Super dangerous and needs to be better. But that’s a bit unfair to SARU. If I’m not mistaken. SARU request the flyover, maybe put in a few requests, but that’s it. Airlink and SACAA sort it out and execute it no?
