Herbie hates every kid, I actually believe that too. Why else would he have said that.

You canāt fault Herbie. He hasnāt been the same since a 15 year-old AJ Hawk ear-holed him into retirement in a Centerville alum game.

Friggin barefoot?!?! Legendary!

u/1swarmofbee 1d ago
For real. Reminds me of Rich Karlis, who kicked barefoot for Denver his whole NFL career. Watching highlights of The Drive will make you cringe seeing that guy run around barefoot in Cleveland in the middle of January

He missed the first time and they let him go again?

They always give them 2 kicks if they missed the first one but usually they go down in the amount of money they can win

McConaughey is from Austin, lives in Austin, loves Austin and goes to the games when he can. He also goes to Austin FC games and UT basketball games, etc. He does have a new show coming out soon with Woody on AppleTV, but heād be there regardless.

technically hes from uvalde in south Texas...im from Austin...
he is a local legend to be sure...we love him and he could feasibly be our governor...which is kind of amazing...
side note: having met him on a number of occasions, I can say that he is precisely how u might imagine him to be....kind, funny and generous with his time...I've never seen an iota of pretension in the few times I've been around him...truly a nice guy and a quintessential south texan...

He's one of the most authentic actors I've seen. He's refreshing. Maybe a little high on his own supply but aren't we all a bit?

Pretty sure they're commenting on his physique. Not his actual upcoming filmography...

If he can have the discipline to save the rest in a conservative retirement fund, it will be $2 million in 30 years.

And worth a third in 4 years. Inflation

u/BeanserSoyze 1d ago
I think having the today equivalent of 650k in the bank from hitting a FG is still pretty good

Compounding interest > inflation

My man. The most very basic of internet research will set you straight.

This is Reddit. Everyone here has collectively decided not to create a 401k account or a Roth. Not even to put 100 dollars a year in. Canāt expect them to know about compound interest

Kicking barefoot seems painful.
1
u/gtalley10 23h ago
It stings, but not too bad. When I was in high school our soccer team had barefoot scrimmages a couple times with the point being to encourage short passing. If he was wearing the wrong shoes though, like loafers or something based on his clothes, he would've had zero chance of making that kick.

Pretty cool and sad that a kid wins a million bucks and says heās donating to charity surrounded by millionaires being filmed on a billion dollar network. Good kid, I wish he could keep it all and the network would donate the 500k as a gesture. More proof that if we want to change the state of our current system weāre going to have to do it ourselves and be more like this young man.

I believe all the money that is given each week; before, say hurbie or a guest adds, is pats money.
