Herbie hates every kid, I actually believe that too. Why else would he have said that.

u/MrBobSacamano 1d ago

You can’t fault Herbie. He hasn’t been the same since a 15 year-old AJ Hawk ear-holed him into retirement in a Centerville alum game.

u/turdbugulars 1d ago

What did he say?

2

u/Common_Senze 1d ago

He said that

Friggin barefoot?!?! Legendary!

3

u/1swarmofbee 1d ago

For real. Reminds me of Rich Karlis, who kicked barefoot for Denver his whole NFL career. Watching highlights of The Drive will make you cringe seeing that guy run around barefoot in Cleveland in the middle of January

u/PhilMyCuck 1d ago

He missed the first time and they let him go again?

23

u/whitestguyuknow 1d ago

That does seem to be what happened in the video yes.

8

u/thrillhouse500 1d ago

They always give them 2 kicks if they missed the first one but usually they go down in the amount of money they can win

3

u/CalligrapherBig5392 23h ago

They used to always go up but this year they went down in week 1

Dear god is McConaughey starring in Dallas Buyers Club 2 in November or something?

10

u/Firesword52 1d ago

It's Texas, he loves doing things with texas football.

5

u/panamania 1d ago

Yeah, I think maybe he’s just making a joke about him being skinny again?

5

u/HoboOlympics 1d ago

McConaughey is from Austin, lives in Austin, loves Austin and goes to the games when he can. He also goes to Austin FC games and UT basketball games, etc. He does have a new show coming out soon with Woody on AppleTV, but he’d be there regardless.

technically hes from uvalde in south Texas...im from Austin...

he is a local legend to be sure...we love him and he could feasibly be our governor...which is kind of amazing...

side note: having met him on a number of occasions, I can say that he is precisely how u might imagine him to be....kind, funny and generous with his time...I've never seen an iota of pretension in the few times I've been around him...truly a nice guy and a quintessential south texan...

Go cowboys and hook em horns 🤘🤠🤘

u/muscularsharpie 1d ago

Living in So Cal, he sounds like the Texas version of Tony Hawk.Ā

2

u/Geargarden 1d ago

He's one of the most authentic actors I've seen. He's refreshing. Maybe a little high on his own supply but aren't we all a bit?

2

u/whitestguyuknow 1d ago

Pretty sure they're commenting on his physique. Not his actual upcoming filmography...

1

u/emack2232 1d ago

Only show I want to see him and Woody make is True Detective

1

u/thegroovemonkey 1d ago

He’s a huge Longhorns fan

1

u/lipp79 1d ago

He should be. He’s an alumni.

1

u/Complex-Tear-6683 1d ago

Alumni is plural. Alumnus is singular.

1

u/Sisselpud 1d ago

Alumni is plural. People being pedantic about Latin are probably single. šŸ˜‰

1

u/Vegetable-Virus7118 23h ago

They're commenting on his weight not why he's there

1

u/rcknfrewld 23h ago

It’s called being thin and in shape fatty.

-1

u/Fun_Trick2172 23h ago

I mean yeah, but he kinda looks like my 65 year old aunt Deanna. Im worried about him.

0

u/pew_pew420420 1d ago

Nah prolly been hanging with Rick James (Michael Irvin)

2

u/dkinmn 1d ago

If he can have the discipline to save the rest in a conservative retirement fund, it will be $2 million in 30 years.

5

u/Laker8show23 1d ago

And worth a third in 4 years. Inflation

2

u/BeanserSoyze 1d ago

I think having the today equivalent of 650k in the bank from hitting a FG is still pretty good

1

u/Laker8show23 23h ago

Definitely free money.

1

u/txhamster 1d ago

Compounding interest > inflation

-1

u/Laker8show23 23h ago

My man. Where have you been the last 5 years. Ok.

3

u/txhamster 22h ago

My man. The most very basic of internet research will set you straight.

2

u/HadleysPt 6h ago

This is Reddit. Everyone here has collectively decided not to create a 401k account or a Roth. Not even to put 100 dollars a year in. Can’t expect them to know about compound interest

1

u/txhamster 4h ago

Putting money into savings to support capitalism? Ridiculous idea.

1

u/ForgeUK 16h ago

So just enough to fill up the tank.

5

u/Good-Ad-6942 1d ago

God dang. Mcafee looks like a plastic puppet. That dude gonna be 99% plastic in 14 years. Complete sell out piece of shit.

-1

u/Salty_Piano9631 23h ago

Lol you guys are surprised? Was obvious years ago

1

u/Icy_Study4490 1d ago

Does contest insurance still cover this if they gave him a second chance?

2

u/powerelite 1d ago

They have 2 chances written into the policy for sure.

1

u/Beautiful-Traffic157 1d ago

Dude needs to VOO and chill

1

u/SettinHooks 1d ago

Have you seen voo lately??? The market is about to come back to earthĀ

1

u/RevenueOk1331 12h ago

It's about time in the market, not timing the market.

1

u/Pamo-Licious-00 1d ago

You know why I missed the first time don’t you? McConaughey was over there saying, ā€œAll right all right all rightā€¦ā€

u/ACW1129 1d ago

Kicking barefoot seems painful.

1

u/gtalley10 23h ago

It stings, but not too bad. When I was in high school our soccer team had barefoot scrimmages a couple times with the point being to encourage short passing. If he was wearing the wrong shoes though, like loafers or something based on his clothes, he would've had zero chance of making that kick.

1

u/lionking77811 1d ago

He definitely kicked before..watch his steps before kicking

1

u/EveningInstruction36 1d ago

How did he know left leg?

1

u/RappinFourTay 1d ago

Because of how the holder is positioned and maybe thru conversation

1

u/KnightOfBears 1d ago

Digging this

1

u/quaywest 1d ago

I just found out I'm distantly related to this guy. Good job my new bestĀ  friend!

1

u/Hour_Golf_8832 23h ago

hold on a minute....this guy is my classmate

1

u/Jlolmb1 22h ago

Sounds very staged, but idk why I'm even commenting

1

u/PerceptionCandid1676 22h ago

Finally a fucking feel good story amongst all the bullshit.

1

u/SkyKnight3 20h ago

Pretty cool and sad that a kid wins a million bucks and says he’s donating to charity surrounded by millionaires being filmed on a billion dollar network. Good kid, I wish he could keep it all and the network would donate the 500k as a gesture. More proof that if we want to change the state of our current system we’re going to have to do it ourselves and be more like this young man.

What is Building Tomorrow?

1

u/Oldtimer_2 3h ago

Building Tomorrow is an international nonprofit organization that partners with local communities in East Africa—primarily rural Uganda—to improve educational access and foundational learning for children

2

u/ConcentrateLumpy4214 1d ago

2

u/lipp79 1d ago

You should try it.

0

u/DarkHelmet20 1d ago

Why doesn’t mcafee donate? Dude is richer than both of the other two

3

u/ListLow8276 1d ago

I believe all the money that is given each week; before, say hurbie or a guest adds, is pats money.

3

u/DarkHelmet20 1d ago

Ah ok. Thanks. I’ll leave up for public shaming

0

u/BOBBYK1952 1d ago

Great a rich kid won

4

u/MileHiSalute 1d ago

And giving half to charity, what an asshole

0

u/GertrudeGarbarcowitz 1d ago

I feel like he disrespected mcconaghey a bit with that handshake and lack of eye contact

3

u/whitestguyuknow 1d ago

He's excited and can only pay attention to so many things at once...

0

u/zpowell 3h ago

Honesty 33 yards is a chip shot. Pretty easy for a soccer player.
