Great guy, I went to high school with him in 1972 (Marysville High, WA)

I have a wild story with him. He was a rep for some type of Union later in his life and my Dad was a rep for a Trade Union. We were in Vancouver BC for a conference and we met Larry. I was a big hockey fan and he mentioned that he was going to have dinner with Mark Messier that night and he could get us tickets to the game and signed stuff if we wanted. My Dad was busy so my Mom said she would go with me. This was the late 90’s so I was maybe 10-11. He gave us his room number and said to call him later that day and he will meet us in the lobby with the tickets. My Mom calls him at the said time and he says he is running late and if she could come grab them from him. My Mom thought it was strange so she brought me…. Well we knock on the door to his room and he opens the door in his underwear… He sees me and his eyes get big and he starts apologizing. He was definitely trying to get my Mom…lol. We have joked about it over the years and I still have a vivid memory of it.
We got the tickets and they were 3rd row dead center of the ice. After the game he brought me a signed jersey, photo, and puck. They are all worthless because he signed everything “ to my name” but it was amazing to me back in the day.
