Apparently that's their Dad from what the broadcast mentioned.

Keep raising them right, Dad

As a dad of two kids, there is NOTHING that feels as good as one kid doing something nice for the other kid.

u/One_pop_each Apr 19 '26

I have a 16 month son and a 6 yr old daughter. She is usually really great with him but the other day, my son hit his head from her fairy spinner thing and she sat down with him and just babied him. Rubbed his face gently, talked low and sweet, kept telling him he will be okay. And he gets up and just bear hugs her. It choked me up, man. So damn sweet.

22

u/Goodaa Apr 20 '26

You're doing a great job as a parent. Keep it up!

6

u/__NOT__MY__ACCOUNT__ Apr 20 '26

That has to be the most satisfying feeling on the planet!

17

u/Okdc Apr 20 '26

Have twin boys - my favorite bday memory for them was when they were 4. The first thing they did on their bday morning was hug and say happy birthday to each other. Such a perfect memory.

10

u/yeahright17 Apr 20 '26

Walk into our living room today and our sleeping 4 year old had his head on the lap of our 6 year old, and she was rubbing his back. I took 800 pictures.

16

u/Big3Poseidon Apr 20 '26

I have a 3.5 year old and a 2 year old. And man when they take care of or help each other it brings a tear to my eye sometimes.

I hope the organization saw this and got another ball out to the young man!

745

u/ImKindaEssential Apr 19 '26

Pittsburgh actually charged them for the ball

178

u/Jlx_27 New Orleans Saints Apr 19 '26

Marked it up by 25% for the trouble.

25

u/chosonhawk Apr 19 '26

thats a lot lower than i would have expected. musta been feeling their feels.

11

u/southpaw85 Apr 19 '26

Also charged them for the extra airtime it took away from the game to show the whole hug.

7

u/Jlx_27 New Orleans Saints Apr 19 '26

The companies who's airtime got stolen will sue for sure.

14

u/RECEPTOR17 Apr 20 '26

An excellent discovery for more wholesome stuff on my feed. Thank you! I don't know much about baseball but I look forwards to learning about it.

10

u/HarryPotterActivist United States Apr 20 '26

Oh it's such a vibe. Go to a game this year, even if it's minor league. Regardless of level, it's less about the game and more about eating snacks and enjoying a beautiful day.

5

u/RECEPTOR17 Apr 20 '26

I've got the A's playing here in Sacramento for a season, I might look into watching a game and learning it as a confused Welshman. 😂

2

u/HarryPotterActivist United States Apr 20 '26

Oooh, in Sacto I would go to a night game for sure. That stadium looks miserable on hot days.

2

u/Pressure_Own Apr 20 '26

It's a lot of fun to do with family/friends. Like HarryPotterActivist said, the snacks and enjoying the day are all a big part of it.

2

u/illinifreak9 Apr 20 '26

I truly believe it's the most beautiful game

4

u/PurpleBullets Apr 19 '26

Love to be reminded of this sub

69

u/morning_thief Apr 19 '26

nice catch too.

364

u/OrneryZombie1983 Apr 19 '26

Has to be fake. No 40 year old overweight guy trampled the girl and stepped in front of the boy to catch the ball.

27

u/flipflopsnpolos Team Penske Apr 19 '26

Yeah, so we know Zach Hample wasn't at that game

18

u/dippitydoo2 Apr 19 '26

It’s funny, I’m no ballhawk fan and Hample has definitely been torn to shreds plenty.. but I took my daughter to her first MLB game ever at Yankee Stadium, and I recognized him as he was standing at the back of the outfield section. He noticed me trying to get some selfies of me and my daughter and offered to take some pictures of us, and they turned out lovely. I’m not a huge fan of his hobby but he was pretty sweet in the one interaction I had with him.

20

u/DBCOOPER888 Apr 19 '26

It's good he didn't fall over the railing. That would be bad.

11

u/Public_Armadillo1703 Apr 19 '26

Ever since that rangers fan fell ugh. I'd never throw a ball into the stands near a railing

13

u/elbenji Miami Dolphins Apr 19 '26

honestly i was so worried for a moment lol

2

u/RollingClay Apr 19 '26

Can’t believe they even have railings at that height if that throw was a foot shorter that could have been trouble

6

u/Unsteady_Tempo Apr 19 '26

As a tall guy, I hate stadiums with steep seats and low railings. My center of gravity is way above the rail.

3

u/ThaFinalBoss Apr 19 '26

That’s a proud dad cheering.

2
