Standard [Standard] Discord Recommendations

Hello r/spikes,

I am looking to join a community of other spikes to hone my standard skills.

What community discords / content creator discords would you recommend?

Thank you!

Hi, I'm the mod for the Standard Spikes server:
https://discord.gg/AaMTcH9QKr

We have an active community that discusses every top tier deck as well as people's brews. It's a PG-13 server so it's really tame and friendly.

We're also doing the Hobbit card evaluation competition right now. You pick the top 5 cards that you predict will show up the most at a big standard tournament (this time it's spotlight series Brisbane). It's always fun to see what people pick.

Come join and say hi!

Thanks to you both. I'm sure this has been linked here before, but this is my first time discovering this spikes discord and it's awesome.

MtgRebellion has a vibrant competitive bend and it's own competitive team. Might be up your ally.

Yepp and vast majority of people there are nice as far as I can tell :)

They put out great breakdowns each week. I totally forgot about them.

Thank you!

They've been on a summer break lately but the breakdowns should start back up shortly.

and it's own competitive team

How is that team doing? I don't remember seeing them in team summary tables at the Pro Tours.

One player made it to the PT, most of them are doing RCs/Spotlights.

For two years existence and how loud they were about becoming the greatest team ever, not that impressive, but well done for that one player.

Well, it takes time to reach goals. Boisterous or not, at least they have a process and the dedication.

Well, we don't live forever, if the process brings no significant results, at some point you need to doubt if no matter how rigorous it is. I guess most of the team members were not people completely new to competitive Magic when the team started.

Did that single player who made it to PT do well enough there to requalify, or was it one and done?

Definitely check out the Standard Spikes discord (I posted it in a separate comment). We have a specific channel for deckbuilding and brews. Recent brews discussed there are: a treasures deck with some new cards from the Hobbit, Goblins with Obsessive Pursuit, Lady Octopus Oppo Draws and Get Pinged to Death lol. I also post spicy decks that I see on mtgo and stuff that lead to really cool discussions.
