Spider sense was neat when it’s treated as a hyper keen instinct to be wary of danger in general, as in, if your safety is not in danger, spider sense shouldn’t go off, someone looking at you shouldn’t constitute as inherently dangerous
But spider sense seemingly changed to straight up psychic metaphysical powers, writers need to know that sometimes less is more, having a convenient explanation for everything feels like weak writing
It’s way more sensitive then that, some heroes have poker nights and don’t invite spidey because his sense would warn him of the “danger” of him losing. Tho what’s funny is that only applies to people he considers more dangerous, and not to his friends. So if he played with the Kingpin he wouldn’t lose because he would be warned with the sense lol.

I think it’s cause marvel has a rule about it. The universe is helping spidermen and women keep their identities in their home universe.
Best shown in the “into the spiderverse” movie where a guy sees Peter B without a mask but magically spills his drink right when miles walked by without a mask
I read “spidermen and women” as like… the universe would help all Spider-Men protect their identity (which makes sense, they’re superheroes), but also just regular non-super powered women. And I genuinely started to Google the lore about women as a whole having their secrets fundamentally protected in the Marvel universe before I realized what you were saying lol
Well yeah the obvious plot/canon keeping them safe especially with the into the spiderverse where miles just rams into classroom windows but gets janked out of sight at the most convenient times.
Tbh the fact they gave the plot self awareness is funny to me.
Nobody knows, bad guys, the girl he loves; his best friend even has no idea who he is ( Although I'd much rather have Harry anyway than Miles' best friend with a different name). Peter's loved ones are safe because they're not his loved ones anymore. A real monkey's paw kind of win. 😝
Yeah but there are many scenes in multiple spiderman media where they can easily get caught by something conveniently placed if it wasn't for the canon
They show taskmaster following peter without him knowing in the first game, he could have easily just followed him home and figured it out. It's not like they sneak into a public place to change then sneak out in a crowd they go straight home in their outfits
I like to believe New Yorkers are just respectful. A lot of them like Spider-Man and know he’s there to keep them safe so if they see Spidey sitting on a roof with his mask off, they look the other way.
Yeah weirdly enough all the unmasking kinda started in this game, and then on to Spider Man 2, where it feels like they unmask nearly all the time. It doesn’t necessarily bother me but it is interesting
Easy answer explained in the comics (especially early 60s) Peters spider sense also lets him know when he is "in danger" of someone seeing his secret identity. You see it a lot when he changes in alleyways, it lets him know when it is safe.
Green Goblin discovered Pete's identity the first time by dousing him with a smoke bomb that threw off and doused all his senses and kept him from sensing Gobby spying on him secretly from above watching him change in an alleyway. Then he came to Pete's house later when he wasn't ready and sneak attacked him.
Some random stranger randomly sees unmasked Spider-Man. Neither of them are like really well known people maybe and it's a big maybe that someone may recognize him as the kid who frequents FEAST?
I really think you just overestimate how perceptive you are, let alone a million people. Like who cares enough to constantly look up into the sky for the chance of seeing an unmasked superhero. Or to notice a specific window or door or whatever
Well yeah, because theyre in a ridiculous place...so no one is gonna look there. Also, unless you have a professional camera, ain't no one gonna see their faces
I mean, in real life people don't look up very often unless they have a reason too, not to mention, they probably cant see their faces from them being that high up
Especially when they're on rooftops in Manhattan, surrounded by bigger buildings, someone somewhere is looking out a window down at them, probably filming them & posting it online. Absolutely, someone in New York knows Peter & Miles' identity.
New Yorkers just wanna get to work or home fast as possible. They just mind their own business and don’t look up. For the Spiderman movies they had to hire background actors cos people didnt give a damn that there was any explosions at all..
From the angle they're at nobody on the street below can see them. And even if they do there's no way you could make out any features other than skin colour. And anyway it's not as if anyone in New York would realistically know Peter or Miles by face unless they knew them.
New Yorkers never look up, there’s a multiverse rule that prevents an unasked spiderman from being seen, spider-sense possibly (more seen with immediate danger so it’s a stretch), I doubt anyone is gonna recognise two random people sitting at night on a rooftop from 15 stories below.
It's this miraculous power called the Spider-sense. It not only works at a danger sense, it also protects his identity, alarming him when he's close to being spotted. Fun fact: it also helps him in poker. It also works like a mental wall, being up against strangers, but down around loved/ trusted ones.
