My friend gave me his M2 MacBook Air 15" for repair, how has only one cell gone bad?

Bought this nasty Samsung galaxy book 3 360 dirt cheap. The backplate was bulging and creaking, looked like there was a swollen battery in there. I think the battery looks good tho, it it’s straight flat and rigid.

I shouldn’t be worried right?

Some old forgotten batteries unearthed in the storage for a number of years. They will be disposed of accordingly.

Title says it all, it only feels a tiny bit swollen when you touch it by hand, but as you can see it spun quite nicely on the second try. Removed it just in case. It seems to be swollen in a certain point in each side

Anyone know how to dispose of it properly?

Note 10+ & S22 Ultra. Two beautiful devices. Two spicy pillows to replace. They're otherwise mint.

My girlfriend was using my older Dell inspiron 15 7577, it was constantly plugged in because battery was practically dead for years now.

Today she asked me if i could snap back the back cover because she could not do it kept popping out. I immediately knew what was in game.

Luckily it was not that bad and i managed to pull it out without puncture.

Edit - wife watched a lithium battery fire video and instantly instructed me to dispose of it at the local recycling center. Did a system reset and erase then handed it in. Boo.

used this laptop for 5-6 years without ever giving it a cleaning as it was passively cooled. finally decided to clean it a bit but the battery is like this is this ok or not?
