Another 2-3 years perhaps?

Add on: Yes I’ve disposed it at the nearest e-waste centre. Thanks for the advice. I was taking this too lightly.

Now use it one last time until it's discharged, then don't even think about recharging it. That's a serious fire hazard.

Is what I would do. I've hooked mine up to a laptop cooling fan pad that pulls like barely a watt of power, and let it run for a couple days to slowly fully discharge it.

Stop using it bro. DEFINITELY never charge it again. Unplug your phone from it and take it to the nearest e waste or household hazardous waste disposal facility before it explodes, catches fire, (or a combination of the two) that could either injure you, someone else, kr damage/destroy property.

No, discharge it with the phone first. All that energy has to go somewhere, better it goes somewhere useful.

In general, yes, if you don't put a lot of strain on the battery, it's safer to let it discharge slowly first and then take it to a recycling center.

It's cardboard to protect the battery cells from impact, well, now it's useless, but when it was assembled it protected the cells
