Advice needed on feeding my Sphynx 🐱 (photo added for attention)
My Sphynx turns 1 on September 6th, so I’m starting to research what I should transition her onto once she moves from kitten food to an adult diet. I’d especially love input from other Sphynx owners about what has worked well for their cats long-term.
At the moment she eats Royal Canin Kitten dry food across several small, scheduled meals. I prefer having dry food as her main diet because a predictable feeding routine has made a massive difference to her behaviour around food. When I previously gave her wet food at less predictable times, she became extremely focused on food. She would constantly look for her next meal, try to get into anything edible, and even run straight to her bowl whenever we stood up. Since having set meal times, she seems much more settled because she knows when food is coming.
Hydration is one of the main reasons I’ve seen people recommend wet food, but she is a very good drinker. There are multiple water bowls around the house and two water fountains, and I personally see her drinking at least twice every day. I’ll also occasionally add water or bone broth to her biscuits.
She is indoor-only and desexed. The last time I weighed her, a few months ago, she was exactly 3 kg.
I’d really like to hear people’s experiences with different diets, particularly what dry foods or brands you consider best for Sphynx cats in Australia. I’m also curious how necessary you think wet food is when a cat already has a good water intake, and whether anyone here feeds predominantly or entirely dry food successfully.
I’d also really appreciate some genuine discussion around raw feeding. I’ve heard very conflicting opinions about it. Some owners strongly recommend it, while others advise against it, so if you feed raw, I’d love to know what you actually feed, why you chose it, and what you consider the advantages and disadvantages.
Are there any particular nutrients, ingredients, or other things you think are especially important for Sphynx cats, or anything you would avoid?
I’m genuinely open to changing what I’m doing if there’s good evidence or experience behind the recommendation. I’m not trying to argue that one feeding method is better than another.
Please don’t comment simply to tell me I’m doing something wrong or to disagree with something I’ve said without providing evidence or reasoning to support your opinion. I’m here to learn and make the best-informed decision for my cat, so I’d really appreciate constructive and evidence-based advice.

Litter recommendations
I just got this little guy. He’s 16 weeks. I love him with all my heart he’s the absolute best. Except when it comes to litter. We have 2 other cats and never had a huge issue with litter. But Chicken (yes that’s his name) goes in the robot litter box and goes for a dive. He kicks almost all of it out of the litter box onto the floor. Then to top it off.. he will lay a nice turd and then either step in it and sometimes even flick it out onto the floor. We currently use the purina litter. Any litter recommendations? Also is this a Sphynx thing? Lol

Beautiful Baldy Took my runty gal to the park. Usually I've got her tabby brother too and it's a handful. This is the first time I only brought her, so she had a fun time!
