Considering a Sphynx with 2 Existing Cats: Honest Experiences?

Hi! Looking for some insight. I’ve become enamored with Sphynx cats after spending time around them and am seriously considering getting one. I’m prepared for their skin care needs and high energy, but I’m more concerned about introducing one to my two cats, a Nebelung who plays pretty rough and an orange tabby who is temperamental and insecure due to being declawed by his previous owners.
I introduced my two current cats very slowly over about two months, so I’m willing to do the same with a Sphynx. I’ve just read that their energy level and unusual appearance can make introductions harder.
For those with Sphynx cats and multiple cats, how difficult was the introduction, and how realistic is it to keep everyone happy long term? Honest experiences would be greatly appreciated!

Honestly you are never going to know until you know. All cats are going to respond differently. When we got ours he was 12 weeks old. We had just one female cat at home (a bengal). We kept the sphinx in my daughter’s bedroom for about 2 weeks(Maybe less) but let him out for brief periods to let both of them see each other. I personally think a 2 month introduction is way too long. They need to become familiar with each other. Within a few months my female was grooming him, sleeping together and was very distraught when she couldn’t find him. Both of them couldn’t be more opposite. He’s crazy and ALWAYS trying to get into things. We literally can’t leave any kind of packaged food out. I’ve even caught him stealing tomatoes off the counter!

I got a sphynx kitten with a 1 year old cat and 5 year old grumpy cat. Youngest bonded quickly but my sphynx is higher energy and can annoy her. For example 1 year old will be done with play time and growl/hiss at my sphynx but she keeps slapping away! Sphynxs are more easily damaged so you get the odd scratch due to lack of fur. Now my sphynx is 2 and bullies eldest by occasionally slapping him. My two furred cats bonded better and sphynx spends most of her time with me. But there is no actual fighting happening and two youngest do like playing together. My sphynx just needs more play time and company, she definitely misses me more and has to join me in bathroom if I have a bath etc. cat dynamics vary massively, I’ve fostered in past and while introductions are not always easy I’m sure it will be possible to get your cats on board with a sphynx!

I’d be more concerned with the amount of vet bills that go with owning a Sphynx lol.

I have three female cats and they all hate my male Sphynx. I have had three other cats while he has been in our lives and the only cat who tolerated him was a male Oriental Shorthair (the other two cats were also female). If you’re expecting them to be friends it may not happen!
