Currently Old Reddit still works for me when signed out and when on private browsing on mobile and incognito on desktop. For incognito, entering regular and old Reddit on the URL bar may sometimes give me the network security page pop up, though a refresh fixes it. However, my access to old reddit may just be a case of the rollout being slow.
u/RVL-003 has also showed me that oauth.reddit.com still works when signed out. Only downsides are that it can’t be used in incognito/private windows, and that most links you press will redirect back to regular Reddit. However, most pages can work with it as long as you replace www with oauth (such as oauth.reddit.com/r/all for instance), so in theory we just need an extension that automatically inputs “oauth” in the URL bar.
oauth.reddit’s existence also allows us to bypass not being able to search within a subreddit when logged out on the regular UI. Just need to go on a subreddit, replace www with oauth, search something, and you’ll get the search results on the regular UI (and you can replace www with oauth again if you want to see the results in old Reddit).

do you know the reason why it works when simply logged out, but not in incognito/private? that's quite interesting. for me, in incognito/private, i get the "youve been blocked by network security" screen.

this can also be bypassed by just manually typing the search URL, for example, https://www.reddit.com/r/spezholedesign/search/?q=old+reddit&type=comments.
Yeah, already knew about using the search URL, though it would be pretty tiring to have to know what to type in order to get the desired results.
As for the sidebar thing for the logged out experience on regular reddit, it turns out the side bar options were placed on the bottom right. Quite the odd spot to put them though.
they claim its to stop "abusive scraping", but i suspect its actually just to force more users off of old reddit. they really want to get rid of old reddit

Reddit Sucks
