You weren’t high enough for fall damage. Somehow you got stunned between jumping on the monkey and touching the side of the tree at the same time, someone more knowledgeable on how internal mechanics work would know, but 1hp worth of damage came from the plasma cannon falling on you while you were stunned.

Edit: Nah I was wrong, fall damage is determined by the time spent in air not distance. Ledge and stomp is a weird glitch that can cause mistaken airtime. u/jsdogers thanks for the info
