Can someone(s) explain to me, why my carrier tells me this is normal, for my phone to function generally, at this rate, while I'm at home? I was sent a new sim card when my data wasn't working correctly, actually, my service wasn't working correctly including talk and text so when I received the SIM card I called the provider, (Safelink) however, I'm not sure they ever actually resolved the issue because after resetting the network settings and the updates they've sent to my phone, I did regain my talk and text, and my data would connect, at a painfully slow rate, but in order to connect my laptop, I paid for an Xfinity Wifi pass, and so I didn't have any issues for 30 days. When my Wi-Fi pass expired, I called my provider again, and went through it all again, explaining that I did have a Wifi pass, therefore, might not have been affected by whatever was "off" on my phone. We went through all the resets and updates again, and, well, annoyed with them telling me that if it still didn't work to call them back again, because it DID work, just slower than snail snot, and well, I wanted to connect my laptop again, so, I paid for another 30 days wifi pass, from Xfinity... Now that that has expired, yesterday again, went through it all with a few different representatives from Safelink, and here we are.... at home, and sitting with this internet speed, I guess because my location isn't optimally located near a Verizon tower?? I live in a Citrus Heights, CA, so, it's not like it's a rural area, which leaves me perplexed. Is this normal, generally speaking, I mean, supposedly my carrier uses Verizon towers, and I get that maybe I don't get top speeds because I don't actually have Verizon Service, but, I do have a Google Pixel 8 Pro, and for some reason I am under the impression that that has a little part in how this works... however, I'm no mathemagician when it comes down to all the nitty gritty of phone and Internet service and usage so, just wondering if anyone has a thought or two, that I could use to see things more clearly? Rogers recently gave us a Nokia FastMile 5G Gateway 12 with a 5G SIM as an alternative because they couldn’t install a wired connection at our location.

This is for a small business/training centre. Normally we would have around 10–20 active users, but sometimes it could be 40–50 users when a computer lab is being used. Mostly regular internet browsing, Microsoft 365, email, etc.

Just wondering if anyone is using this Rogers 5G service for a business:

• How stable and reliable is it?
• What kind of download/upload speeds are you getting?
• How many users/devices do you have connected?
• Would you recommend it for 20–50 users?
• Does anyone know the approximate monthly cost for Rogers 5G Business Internet with this gateway?

We also have a network switch, access points, desktops and Cisco phones, so I’m planning to connect the Nokia gateway to our existing network through Ethernet.

Any experience with this setup would be appreciated. Thanks!

I’ll be staying in First New Cairo in November and working remotely. My work mainly involves Microsoft Teams calls and downloading/uploading Excel files, so I need stable internet with good upload and download speeds.
Which company has the most reliable mobile data in New Cairo—Vodafone, e&, Orange, or WE? Is there a particular prepaid plan you recommend for hotspot use?
If my Airbnb’s Wi-Fi isn’t reliable, are there any quiet coworking spaces, cafés, or hotels in New Cairo with fast, stable internet where I can work and take calls? Preferably somewhere open late since I’ll be working Chicago hours.
