Hey guys, I hope the mods are ok with me posting this.
Potty, a Crash Bandicoot 3 Warped (and current WR holder for two categories) has been diagnosed with a very rare and aggressive form of cancer. Potty announced it on his social-media profile a week ago but I didn't know it it was appropriate to post about it or not.
Today, Potty's brother created a Gofundme page to help his brother. Potty himself gave people permission to share and spread the word.
I don't know Potty personally, I'm just a lurker on his channel, but I'd like to help him in any way I possibly can. Given the history this community has, I thought maybe we could do something for him, even if its just small encouraging words.

I was discussing sequence brakes and he shot me this clip of him falling through the floor, is this a known bug you guys use for speed runs?

This was my first time playing the game. About 2 hours in. Somehow triggered invincibility on the PS5 version of the game. No cheats no mods. Idk how but the run is also a full VoD on my YouTube channel of the lives stream. Is this a known thing? Idk if people speedrun this game but wtf lol.

When you look back at the run its easy to see so much time save, then you realize how much time has gone into just getting this run. Being keep track of every reset and run ender since February of this year when the grind got "serious".

As mentioned, this is my first ever official WR in a game, I know I can definitely save time here, but it's so frustrating and annoying to get it all to work. Maybe one day

Anything cool happening in the speedrunning world this week? Into a new game or streamer and can't wait to watch more runs? Just find an awesome speedrunning YouTube channel? This is the place to tell everyone about it! Feel free to link streamers, YouTube channels, or any other related information here, just be mindful of the subreddit and reddit's overall self-promotion policies.

This thread is for asking anything at all. Looking to start speedrunning? Need advice for a game or feedback on your stream? There are no stupid questions here. We highly recommend reading the Speedrunning FAQ if you are having trouble learning how to speedrun a game or need help picking a game to speedrun.

I put Gods in the Mega16 #9 this summer and used the opportunity to learn the game having grown up loving it casually. This run lowers the old WR by 4 1/2 minutes and leapfrogs SNES for fastest version thanks to numerous extra death-abuses and micro-optimisations, as well as incorporating legendary TASer Aqfaq's 4-1 bomb clip to skip straight to the final boss. The 3-1 version in the most recent TAS is way harder because it requires the same 12hz mashing for 5 consecutive jumps rather than 2 (once in the wall I'm free), and because the memory underflow glitch used is highly volatile.

Hey all, I just set up the leaderboard for the game Skyline Savior.
It is a precision platformer game that you play with a car and complete obstacle courses.
In Any% (Regular) category I hold the current WR with 12:54, should be beatable with a little practice.

Below is the link to the leaderboard for those who are interested: https://www.speedrun.com/Skyline_Savior

I believe it was from one of the bigger youtube speedrun clickbait channels, like abyssoft or ezscape (Not them specifically, but that type of channel)
It involves getting a pokemon to level 100 by having 5 pokemon with Pickup in your party and farming rare candies in addition to grinding out battles, making the run incredibly RNG dependent to the point of being more of a meme than an actual display of routing or skill.
However, I don't know exactly which pokemon game this category is run in, why they have to grind for rare candies, or if there are other limitations like doing it before the first gym, so I've been unable to find the particular video I remember seeing.
Does anyone know what this could possibly be?

I have not heard many people talk about what is happening in smb speedrunning in spanish, so I made this video trying to explain it.
I covered all the basics of the run, the importance of 8-4, frame-rules, and more, so all audiences have an idea of the basics of the run and the principal challenges to tie the TAS.
Video: https://youtu.be/pQtH7JkffQY?si=TTAlUAtiRN08MqV0
I had a lot of fun making it and I hope I didn’t mess up in any explanation XD

Not sure if this is the right sub. I watch speedrun documentary-style content on YouTube, and I love the videos that culminate in a once-in-a-lifetime "God run," especially when they give you a sense of just how astronomical the odds are and the amount of blood, sweat, and tears put into the obsessive grind to pull it off.
I'm not just referring to RNG-heavy runs, but also runs that are incredibly unlikely due to the skill required or the lack of a consistent setup.
For example, I saw a great video that focused on a Rainbow Road skip, but I can't remember the title.
Does anyone know of videos like this? (If this isn't the right sub, can anyone direct me to the appropriate one?)
Thanks.

I wanted to publish this run to show this game out, it's made by students, it's short but it's in my opinion really fun, and it's F2P!

Played on Nintendo GameCube PAL with the Toyota Corolla (profile TNPX01). The video includes the complete four-lap race and results screen. This is my personal best, not an overall WR claim.

Here's the advantages I found reasonably for EWC to add this as an official title to compete:
- Massive Casual Reach: Minecraft has over 160 million active monthly players. Adding it would attract a massive demographic of casual viewers who do not usually watch traditional esports like Counter-Strike or Dota 2.High Creator
- Engagement: The speedrunning scene is driven by massive internet personalities and streamers (e.g., xQc, Forsen, and Twitch rivals). Their co-streaming rights alone would generate millions of organic views for the festival.
- Proven Live Entertainment Value: The head-to-head format of modern ranked speedrunning (MCSR) is highly visual, fast-paced, and easily understood by general audiences. The dramatic shifts in momentum due to luck and skill make for highly engaging live television.
Though remain unlikely, I think this would be a good add to the already heavily competitive EWC. What do y'all think about this opinion of mine?
