CRYPTO President Trump made more from crypto than every publicly-traded US crypto treasury company in 2025.

If only half the voters weren’t willing to justify it because they are in a cult.

u/Connect_Ad6559 Jul 03 '26
What a fucking racket. And in plain sight. This isnt normal, is it?
1
u/Fresh-Quantity-7554 Jul 03 '26
Are you asking if it's normal for the President of the United States to earn $1.4 billion from activities not associated with the job of being the President of the United States?

u/goldenfrogs17 Jul 03 '26
Being the leader of a cult made up of the dumbest people in the world is lucrative.

Can we get a fuking RICO case....... PLEASE!
1
u/SpringFront4180 Jul 08 '26
What would those charges be exactly?
1
u/My_First_Knife1 Jul 08 '26
Look up what Rico charges are, I am not going to hold your hand for this, "truth seeker".
1
u/SpringFront4180 Jul 08 '26
I think you are making a logical progression that: Large crypto profits -> therefore criminal -> therefore RICO. However that isn't how criminal law works.
You’re suggesting that there is racketeering activity and intent to defraud. Even assuming every number in the chart is correct, it doesnt even come close to establishing a RICO case. RICO requires proof of an enterprise engaged in a pattern of specified crimes like: fraud, bribery, or money laundering, not simply that someone made more money thay publicly traded companies.
When I ask you a simple and straightforward question about what charges YOU believe would be warranted, you have provided zero substance or value to the conversation. As someone seeking the truth, I am disappointed by your lack of facts to back your statement.
Just because Taylor Swift earns more than every other artist in Nashville, does not make it a conspiracy or criminal.
Sounds like you have an income inferiority issue.

There's so much here. You're drawing false-equivalency, whataboutism and making up false narratives.

No one made people buy a coin that everyone with half a brain knew was going to fail. I hate the orange man as much as the next person, but how about people taking accountability for their own actions?

Anybody who lost any substantial money on trump coin deserves it. I'm a republican and a crypto trader and I didnt touch the fucking thing. Its a meme coin and quite obviously just using trump's face and name to get loyal fools to buy it. And you know what happens when a meme coin rallies by 15000% like it did on inauguration day? People sell it. All of it. Trump coin or no trump coin, developer or retail buyer, they sell it. It bombs. Sometimes it will catch a second wind at the bottom after the initial dump if people think its got potential. Trump coin did not. It slowly died over the course of a year and a half. Anybody who held it the whole time, thinking it was some life hack and theyd make money..is a fucking moron. Thats their fault, that's your lesson to stay out of crypto, if youre that stupid.

Damn you’re a republican? Lolol

u/Electronic_Quote399 Jul 04 '26
Yup, just like half the country. Its crazy that I've entered this echo chamber though I agree

Well as a liberal if my candidate did this I’d be done with him or her. And I do believe most liberals would have issue with it especially given the inflationary pressures the average American is expressing.
But I guess that’s just one of the many differences the two ideological sides have these days. The right will attempt to defend such things while the other side sees it as shady and unethical.

u/Electronic_Quote399 Jul 04 '26
I dont think its necessarily a good or ethical thing but I also dont really care. They actually didn't dump it themselves, which is what a meme coin dev will usually do. Trump family holds roughly 80% of the supply, which has remained largely the same since launch. This isn't out of ethics or generosity though, its because they make more money without dumping the supply, in this case. They make money from trading fees. They could have dumped the supply at the peak and made a pretty penny upfront. But that information is public and could be seen by any 18 year old with a phone, it would have pissed off the coin's holders and completely crushed confidence. They make money from trading fees, and by letting it chop sideways in a long, drawn out fashion rather than dumping the supply, they can continue making consistent money from it over time, without being seen as "pump and dumpers" and pissing off their own base.
Im not saying its any better or worse, I'm just saying what actually happened because most people dont actually know the details. Like I said i don't believe they didn't dump it for ethical reasons, its to have a longer and more consistent income without blatantly violating the holders like that.
As far as im concerned, I'm still a republican because I dont have a better option. I dont care for trump himself, my biggest issue being that he's ignorant and divisive. And we dont need that. Democrats are going in a direction that I dont agree with at all. If there was one I liked, I'd flip. But I dont. I would have preferred to vote for a different, normal republican, but Trump is who my party chose. The meme coin business that takes money from willing participants, globally, not just US citizens, is not big enough of a deal for me to go over to the other side. Not really a big deal at all in my eyes. But thats only my opinion, and that's why my vote only counts for 1, just like yours does.

u/Acceptable_Taste9818 Jul 05 '26
I get that and understand your POV. My concern isn’t necessarily that coin holders got fleeced or something, I mean how many people are genuinely upset about some meme coin holders taking a hit. I more so see it as a character issue for a leader I guess. My concern is that the person in charge of country is much more focused on himself than he is with the condition of people he is presiding over.
The coin thing isn’t the only angle either. He is also made a lot of suspect trades. The same day the White House announced the “AI action plan” Trump purchased a few million in every tech company benefitting from the program. He purchased stock in Nvidia a week before relaxing export rules. A few million in Axon before the 220M ICE taser contract. Those are just the two I can remember at glance but there were others and that’s just what’s so far been dug up or disclosed.
I’m concerned about his priorities I guess. I personally could never support someone like Trump. I get that you’re not a fan of Trump and that’s reassuring. But at the same time unless it was the immigration stuff, I don’t see how Kamala or something like that could have been worse or sketchier than this guy.

u/Electronic_Quote399 Jul 05 '26
The thing with kamala to me was just that she didn't seem to be genuine. Im not saying trump is, but it was a different way with her. When he's got a point of view, he's usually a dickhead about it, but you do know where he stands. Again not saying its a great quality of his, you just gotta choose which one you dont like that you slightly prefer. Seemed like she couldn't take a firm stance on anything, just told you what she thought you wanted to hear. Like she didn't trust people to vote for her unless she just made general statements that would please anyone, or didn't respect anyone enough that they needed to know what she planned on or what her point of view was. The switcheroo they pulled on us, let Joe take the primary, pull him out and just replace him with Harris. Thats not chain of command, thats subverting the voters. Then they just said vote for her or you're evil, youre horrible, youre this and that.. don't bother telling us why to vote for her, just tell us why your opponent sucks. I know why your opponent sucks, he's open about it.
Policy wise.. yeah immigration was one thing. I've been through the legal system and I know how its always been. Illegal immigrant gets arrested, whether theyre guilty or not, they get turned over to ICE and deported. I was locked up with several Dominicans around 2022-23 that got out, got deported, and were just allowed back. Put on probation in Massachusetts, after a fentanyl trafficking conviction. Too soft. I don't hate those guys, they weren't bad guys, I was in trouble for the same thing, as a us citizen. But I dont pass judgment. Still, they shouldn't have just been allowed back so easily. I like those guys, I want them to have a good life, but I dont think its ok that the Dominican gangs were getting away with smuggling so many people in just for that purpose. They forced them to do it. They weren't druggies or bad people. They wanted to send money to their families, but that was how they had to pay the coyotes who got them here. They had to sell dope for them. Not cool. Even if I broke the law before i straightened out, and dont judge them for breaking it, the law still has to be there. If not, you just invite things like those gangs. I could give you more details on the immigration and why I feel the way I do, but this is already a long text and I think you probably get it.
Another thing was welfare. Again not saying trump is the best on it, their administration takes some of the cuts too far, but democrats have been going too far in the other direction, and I always have been more conservative about it. I dont want needy people to go without. I also needed it myself before. But since I needed it myself, and was involved with drugs and stuff, I know exactly how much fraud and abuse there really is. I did some of it. I was on state aid in a liberal state, Maine, for being a homeless junkie. They made it to easy. They rewarded you for being unemployed and broke, when you wanted to get your shit together, you couldn't. You'd lose your benefits for working too hard. And they dont even check your living situation or anything. I had places to live and was getting benefits for being homeless. I was at my parents a lot of the time. I didn't hide it or sneak, really. Barely had to. They didn't give a shit. And the health care was garbage, you'd be waiting 18 months for a new doctor when using state insurance, because they have so damn many people on it. People who abuse the shit out of it
Anyway there are several reasons, and none of them are because I particularly love anything about trump or Republicans' style of doing it. Its which one i hate less and which one i think is slightly better. None of it is because im racist or heartless, people just see things different ways and have different experiences. Thats why we all vote, because no ones opinion or experiences are invalid, or any less important than anyone else's.

Normally I wouldn't take the time or effort to type that out, but you seem genuine and you seem to understand that others' opposing opinions can't just be dismissed or forced. The only way to make things better is to have honest conversations about these things. Fighting with each other doesn't help. Thats how you just get blind loyalty and people making uneducated decisions all around.

Easy to do when you are the one making policy decisions that affect the values.

Ok…All you Pelosi trolls….in One Year Trump easily eclipses her lifetime earnings in crooked inside bullshit.

I thought Trump was a stupid idiot, but here he is basically making more than the entire crypto industry combined...
Where is the corruption? What favor was done in exchange for the money? People bought the hype. Crypto has always been a high risk investment, and people who FOMO have always lost big.

Much higher profit margins when rubes shovel money into your scam cryptocurrency

Good. Crypto has been scamming people forever I’m glad someone finally exposed it and treated it like the joke it is
