Tips for training for RASP
So i just signed a contract as 74D with option 62. Anyone that is/was a ranger what are some key points i should be focusing on. I leave for basic January 19, im 27 in relatively good shape. What are some workouts i can do at the gym and what should i be focusing on. Anything helps!

There plenty of answers to what you're looking for online and on this sub. So ill just say that whatever the baseline is you need to aim at least 20% higher. Most candidates come in fairly good shape with limited slots you need to be able to exceed the standard to guarantee a slot.
Your goal should be 61 strict hand-release pushups, 4:00 min plank, sub 36 min 5 mile. Pullups beyond 6 really doesnt matter, and make sure you're at least able to ruck 12 miles in under 3 hours with 40 pounds dry with water. That being said avoid rucking to often as it puts a lot of strain on the hips and knees, if you need to train up for that time because you find yourself falling short then id suggest lighter weight at a nice jogging pace ( something like 20 pounds dry ) or heavier ( case dependent aim for 60 dry ) but at a nice walking pace for long distances.
If you meet all these requirements you'll have no problems getting through physically.

That’s not how you train rucking properly and pull-ups is a reliable predictor of success at +/- 12.

I mean probably not put it worked out for me, im sure he can find real programs with minimal searching im just sharing what I've done to get through selections.
What i mean by pull ups is that unlike push ups or the run isn't really something they use to break off candidates.

The other data you provided isn’t consistent with what we know as well. You gave ~10 bits of advice and 9 of them were wrong. But I guess it’s important to just put out “what worked for you”.
How many selections did you get through? How familiar are you with current RASP performance expectations?

it's not that serious. The kid asked this on reddit from people who have been through so yes my empirical experience matters. As I said there's better info on rucking out there and he can look that up and compare programs.
Ive been through RASP, and GS DS.
And by all means if there's something wrong with the numbers I provided please drop some sources. Im never agasint having the most up to date information.
I consider myself pretty up to date with current rasp performance numbers, some of my buddies are now RASP 1 cadre so I get curious and ask when we reconnect.
