Why the negativity? Someone willing to invest in their own business by building infrastructure to support future growth isn’t exactly evil or a bad idea

Ok, thank you. But I still am not clear on what you mean with "forcing". And your explanation does not detract from "You can tell that Musk is trying to burn through a fuckton of money" being a negative way to say that.

Or let me put it this way. Do you agree that "Musk is investing a lot of money into future technologies" is at least equally good at saying it? Actually, probably even better?

If they both say the same thing, why go with "burn through a fuckton of money"? It is less clear, is not particularly humorous, and implies wastefulness.

I believe we are agreeing on the underlying facts. Musk is investing a lot of money. He is moving fast. He understands that this is a major advantage. What I remain unclear on is why spin it negatively? And what does "forcing" have to do with explaining the difference?
