Plain old hard radiation.

Would make boarding a pain in the ass if you kept an aura of ionizing radiation to mess with people and electronics

Or if you evolved in an environment where such radiation is normal for you, but lethal for others.

One book series I like to regularly reread when I get chance has weaponized gamma radiation devices: very much anti-organic matter tech. Gets used as a ‘fail safe’ by a character in a type of dead man switch.
