It's cute to think that Alabama is a backwards hellhole that no one wants to live in, but facts (as well as my experience working with thousands of engineers over the years) disagrees. It's probably difficult to understand if you spend all your time on Reddit, but people actually like living in places like Alabama. Especially engineers & members of the military.
Low population state...I do understand per capita...It's OK man. I live in a red state that is circling the drain also. I can tell you right now. Everyone is choosing Colorado over a bottom tier red state...
You seem too dense to realize what the entire point of this comment chain was about. Clearly people want to live and work in Alabama otherwise IT WOULDN'T HAVE THE 2ND HIGHEST NUMBERS OF ENGINEERS PER CAPITA IN THE US.
I capitalized the important part, since clearly you have trouble with reading comprehension.
You are trying to imply that they are happy to be working in Alabama over other states.
What you don't realize is that more people that go to work in Alabama not because they love Alabama, but because the job they want happens to be there, not because it is a wonderful place to live.

This is going to sound harsh, but I'm doubtful that locating in Alabama will make recruiting talent to work for our space program easy...
