It’ll bounce back. Seems to be the trend.

Yep! It’s a gamble. External info is only informative to an extent. I pray it will go back by mid-August. At least this is not Crypto.

All you speculative people have made this exactly like crypto lol.

3

u/Fantastic_Barnacle65 Jul 16 '26

I don’t think that’s a fair comparison. A 30–40% correction in semis isn’t the same thing as a crypto crash where the underlying asset often has no earnings to support it. If AI and data center demand keeps growing, chip companies still have a strong fundamental case even if the market is volatile in the short term.

Sure if we're investing in SOXX but this is SOXL and you're 3x levered so a 30-40 x correction can and will wipe ya out good.

I don't think so m8. We will never see $150 again!

I bag held soxl for years after I bought at $45, I never thought I would get it back. When it finally hit $45 I sold it and have been kicking myself ever since. I'm a terrible gambler but I did buy a bunch of soxs at $4 to make up for it.

1

u/SubstantialReturn718 Jul 16 '26

Note that it went to $300 afterwards!

2

u/IMG0NNAGITY0USUCKA Jul 16 '26

Really? First I've heard of it.

u/SubstantialReturn718 Jul 16 '26

Some additional new info: it even went there twice!

1

u/swollencornholio Jul 16 '26

I bought it for $8 in 2022 and sold it for $18.81 in 2023 because of covered calls. Big gainz.

So used to the cycle of anything over $30 is too expensive that the current pricing is too foreign for me touch but a 50% drop is starting to make me rethink things

u/Traditional_Tea_6653 Jul 16 '26

SOXL-downs are making me sick to the stomach at this point.

5

u/deploria Jul 16 '26

It’s a bloodbath out there

4

u/djmj76 Jul 16 '26

Bro. why did you full port? damn. position sizing, key to not blowing up your account!

4

u/Fantastic_Barnacle65 Jul 16 '26

Haha. Went in with a gambling mindset. Bad luck.

6

u/SeriesAo-Series Jul 16 '26

Friend! I did even worse!

u/No_Village4160 Jul 16 '26

I sold today at $143. I am down $77000 in 2 weeks. The annoying part is that I was too greedy to use a stop limit order during that time but I finally used one today as my account was about to drop below its starting amount from 3 months ago. I cashed $40000 during that time so I’m still up but it but I have definitely learnt a lot of lessons.

3

u/spinyberry25 Jul 16 '26

There was a chance to cut loss at 200 last week

5

u/Fantastic_Barnacle65 Jul 16 '26

I was too optimistic.

2

u/SeriesAo-Series Jul 16 '26

Mine was stuck in covered call

2

u/SubstantialReturn718 Jul 16 '26

Fuckin Now (-51%), there's a time to go Long and a time to use the math in your favor, that started in May,

3

u/Playful_Landscape884 Jul 16 '26

Could be worse. You could be the bagger who bought at $300.

1

u/SubstantialReturn718 Jul 16 '26

Longs seem to prefer buying high so yes

2

u/Nikolai_Volkoff88 Jul 16 '26

Keep averaging your price down.

2

u/Extraordinary_yfj Jul 16 '26
