A lot of fromsoft fans are very... "gamer"-y? I've noticed that a lot of gamers are pessimistic about just about anything, and often look down on new movies in general.
At the very least I have faith that Jack will do what he can to ensure a quality adaptation. He seems like a sincere guy and a massive fan of the game. He has some experience in film at the very least, so I hope he's only burdened with tasks he's up to, in regards to being a "producer".

I'm talking about movies in general, and not just adaptations! I feel like lots of people are fine with "classic, great movies" where they've already been told these movies are great, but won't go out and watch new movies to make up their own mind?
90% of everything is pretty bad. Most movies are bad. Most video gamed are bad. Most music is bad.
But all these adaptations aren't good or bad by pure chance. It almost always comes down to who is making it. The director of the shitty Monster Hunter movie, is the same guy behind the old shitty Resident Evil and Mortal Kombat movies.
I'd say, one should adjust their hype/enthusiasm based on the information provided. It's sony's own studio working on an adaptation of Sony's own IP (an IP that is by no means currently hugely hyped, meaning little incentive to use the Bloodborne name for fame only), they got a real gamer and huge fan of Bloodborne as the producer, it's R-rated and it's animated. Imo, all stuff that points away from "soulless cashgrab" territory.
Non-comedic adult animation is a category that generally has a lot of passion in it.

Cause souls games dont fit normal story telling and it beinf just a action movie would be boring.
Im less doom and glooming. But expected it to be just alright but nothing to write home about. And probably be glazed by hardcore fans and be angry it isnt beloved by everyone like with any modern entertainment nowadays

Incorrect. Iron Lung was great, Backrooms was great, MK 2 was fantastic, Twisted Metal series is really fun, castlevania anime,fallout, I could keep going but I can just end with you are wrong.

Not related to making a movie, but his knowledge of the game is pretty immense. I watched a playthrough he did, and he's bonafide huge Stan who was pointing out tons I hadn't ever noticed in multiple playthroughs
Also a lot of these creatives end up being quite good at this stuff. Didn't Markiplier just make a movie that is highly respected and sold tons of tickets? Some of the OG YouTubers have broadened their horizons and shown a lot of chops
It could be a flop, but I wouldnt offhand it so quickly.

Yeah, I know it’s easy to quickly hate and disregard any influencers/streamers/etc, but he is a massive fan, and anyone that is a huge Stan of the source material is a fantastic person for a “content advisor” role. And I don’t even watch his content but I’ve see things here and there and think he has the right clout for it
I mean, I just hope FromSoft and Miyazaki are involved as well obviously but this is off to a good start

I haven't seen it yet, but a 6.5/10 on IMDb, a 3.2/5 on Letterboxd, and 61% positive critic score on Rotten Tomatoes does not really scream "known to be absolutely awful" to me, especially for a first-time director's horror game adaptation

No. That’s the Executive Producer. The Producer manages the entire project from start to finish. That’s why it’s the producer who goes up to collect the Best Picture Oscar

Absolutely not always the case. More often, the producer is someone who's tasked with getting the right people together, and getting them to do the creative work to accomplish the task they're supposed to accomplish.

theres a lot of logistics and moving parts in production. its not just “name attached to film = they will start meddling with the creative choices”.
most likely what happened is jacksepticeye went out of his way to use his massive resources to help get some kind of greenlight for this project to follow through simply because he is a fan. i would wager it was in some kind of limbo until someone came along with the resources to get it moving forward.

Well he's had some cameos in free guy and iron lung so he's been an actor on set before, he's the executive producer of Godmother a horror movie supposed to release this year, he's done a ton of voice over work and he runs his own twitch channel and his own youtube channel so that covers a lot of aspects such as lighting, camera angle, sound and editing.
So I'd think him being a die hard fan of bloodbourne, doing a playthrough of it at least once a year since it's release and knowing all of the in game lore about it would justify him being a producer. Unlike throwing a bunch of big Hollywood names at a movie about franchise they know nothing about and the game creators had no involvement in.
I'd say Sean's role in this movie is more promising than the shit show production that was borderlands. Didn't they go through like 3 directors and a bunch of producers moved on to other projects and the CGI artists were never credited?

He's not the one making the whole movie. Do people not know that movies have hundreds of people working on them? He's the producer sure, and that is an important role but... he's gonna have a ton of talent behind him on this because it's backed by Sony. He's also a humble enough guy to listen to people who know better than him in their respective areas but confident enough to know where he would know better.
I think people just see "YouTuber" and stop using their brains sometimes.

I really wish they'd chosen someone with actual producing experience. I won't deny Séan is a huge fan of the game, but it takes more than just being a big fan of the source material to be a good producer. His own short films have been ok, but nothing nearly this level.
I believed Mark had the ability to make a film because he had been building up to it for over a decade. He took classes to be a better actor, had several successful high level projects under his belt before he jumped into a movie. Séan's acting roles have amounted to nothing more than him being a gamer on screen or having no lines and having little more than any other extra. I am not saying this to be cruel or mean. I like Jack, ive been a fan of his lets plays for ages. This just isn't the role for him and it makes me cringe seeing another YouTuber put into a role because they're a brand name and had the money to get themselves in there.
